I’m going to be as nice as possible as this is a small business and I personally know the wonderful family who owns it. The food used to be so incredible! It tasted fresh and was so flavorful. I know that times are tough for everyone, but I have noticed a severe decline in quality in their burritos specifically. A couple of years ago, you a burrito at El J’s you get a burrito packed it ingredients. Fresh lettuce, sour cream, rice, beans, and meat. The burritos are now majority beans and meat. This isn’t even touching on the shrink-flation, the prices have raised but the burrito somehow gets smaller and skinnier. I don’t want to bash El J’s, but I want to give an honest review of the experiences I’ve had and the change in quality. Good luck to the owners and loyal customers.

El J’s, as the locals call it, has an amazing burger, great Mexican food, and a run-down little seating area in the restaurant. Order the burgers and fries and take it to go because the host/service has a little bit of attitude. Their salsa and chips were free, but not really good. The prices are reasonable and the quesedilla and enchilada were pretty good.

First time trying El Jalisense. The restaurant was clean, the waitress was very nice and polite and the food was great. I had steak Ranchero with the best grilled vegetables, rice and beans. My husband had chicken and steak molcajete and he said it was delicious. Very relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely eat there again.

I was sad to leave this review. Having eaten here in the past with good experiences. 12.21.2024 the salsa was essentially water. They charged for beans with salsa. The food was very greasy. Everyone in my 4 person group felt it was sub par. They need to fix their exhaust vent because the smoke from the kitchen fills the restaurant. I really hope things improve.
