Went here due to the great reviews. Overall I don’t think it’s a bad place to eat I just personally didn’t love my food. May have been what I got, I’ve definitely had better Mexican food before. The churros were amazing tho! They also barely give you any chips and then if you get guac or something you need more chips and they kinda acted like they didn’t want to give us more, never had that happen at a Mexican restaurant before. Service overall was fast and friendly though.

Great local spot for delicious food and drinks! We always check reviews while traveling through towns to find highly rated restaurants and we would agree with others that this place is excellent. The tables are unique and the chairs super comfortable. Loved the artwork on the wall by the kitchen. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food flavorful, and my cucumber jalapeño margarita spicy! Thumbs up all around! If we were locals, this would be a regular spot for us. Thanks for the great experience.

A must try! This is seriously some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. Rice and beans are so flavorful, salsa was great. Queso is some of the best I’ve had. I got the steak tacos and they were delicious. The steak was seasoned wonderfully and tender.

Atmosphere was quiet, and calm. Kid friendly. Kids menu had lots of options and they have high chairs.
We’re visiting from out of town but if we ever find ourselves back near Cortez we will definitely be eating here again. I highly recommend you eat here!!

We drove in to try this restaurant after reading the reviews but were pretty disappointed. Queso was waterymilky and bland, chips were over toasted, almost burnt. Meals looked beautiful and were made with fresh ingredients but not how we expected. Spinach enchiladas, for example, had mushrooms, tomatoes, and onions inside with a few pieces of spinach. Shrimp tacos had good flavor but the shrimp was over cooked. It didn’t live up to the hype for us.

I was really happy with this place. All of the food came out in less than 10 minutes, which is way faster than most restaurants I’ve been to. The service was excellent. The servers were super kind, always checking in on us, and helped with anything we needed. I even saw one of them wrapping utensils in napkins — they weren’t rushing like at other places. You could tell they really take their time and put care into the small things, which made the whole meal feel more special.
The food itself was amazing. My mom and I shared a plate with steak, beans, rice, guacamole, and pico de gallo — every bite was packed with flavor. My brother somehow finished a massive meal on his own, and my dad had the enchiladas, which looked and smelled incredible. For dessert, we ordered the churros, and boy, were they good. They were filled with caramel, drizzled with even more caramel and chocolate, and came with a big pile of whipped cream to scoop with. Definitely one of the best parts of the meal.
The atmosphere was also really nice. It wasn’t crowded, so it felt peaceful and calm — a perfect spot to enjoy a meal with family. The lighting was soft and relaxing, and there was a great-looking bar in the corner if that’s something you’re interested in. The whole place had a warm, cozy vibe that made us feel comfortable right away. If you’re ever in Colorado, I highly recommend checking out El Campestre Mexican Restaurant. This restaurant is 100% deserving of its high ratings. You can tell all people here are hardworking. The staff was very nice and attentive. There is a good amibance and plenty of space. All the food was so delicious and the portion sizes were very good too. The food is so fresh and it arrives really fast. I would ask for the salsa picante que es muy delicioso! I 100% recommend this hidden gem and try the various delicious foods!

Truly, truly fantastic. I can only assume that any sub-5-star review of the food was a one-off accident, or the reviewer was expecting/wanting something more Tex-Mex. This is authentic Mexican food and it’s excellent. I’d do anything to relocate this place to Colorado’s front range.

After living here for three years I finally found this place and now I come here all the time (monthly at least)! I love the food, everything I have had has been amazing. They have a house hot sauce that will really get you fired up, or you can stick with the robust and rich flavors of the plate you pick. We usually get fajitas and/or a combination plate with chimichangas and enchiladas. I wish I could recommend it more because I think they are way underrated. Cheers!

Delicious authentic dishes. Prices were great! Everything was freshly prepared. We were seated, given a menu, presented with chips and salsa in a most friendly and timely manner. The house margarita was wonderful. Give them a try it was delicious

Previous reviewers are spot on! Bring an appetite for good food! Generous portions. Ordered the barbacoa tacos, tampiquena steak, and taquitos as an appetizer. These are REAL taquitos. Not the tiny wraps of seasoned meat. The tampiquena steak has a bit of heat, but is flavorful and tender.
