Finally a Bahn Mi sandwich restaurant in Petaluma! They just opened this week and show a lot of promise.
Located in the former Subway Sandwich store in the Lakeville Plaza at Lakeville Hwy and Casa Grande Rd. Nice decor inside with bar seating along the windows and limited indoor seating, and some outdoor seating.
Option to self-order at tablets (credit card only) or at the counter (cash). It was faster ordering at self- ordering tablets.
Nice resin displays of sample foods and beverages.
Ordered a Traditional Banh Mi, Pork Belly Banh Mi, Mushroom Rice Bowl, Avocado Spring Rolls and two Boba Drinks. All were flavorful with minor issues with consistency. The bread on the sandwiches were not toasted the same. One was great, the other over toasted and hard. The pork belly wasn’t evenly distributed on the bread with it favoring one side of the bun.
Loved the option for cheese foam on the beverages. If you’ve never tried it, you should! It provides a creamy, rich, sweet foamy topping. Don’t be fooled by the name, it doesn’t taste like cheese.
Hoping that the speed and efficiency will improve. We ordered to-go and it took close to 40 minutes to get our order. I recommend ordering in advance online for quicker in-and- out time.
Staff was pleasant and friendly.
If you want to use the restroom, then note that it’s accessible from the outside of the building. There’s no inside access from the establishment.
Looking forward to trying more options from the menu.

I love this place! The people who work here are cheerful and helpful and efficient. I have both eaten at their little outdoor table and also picked up to go orders on several occasions. The first time I ate there, I was so happy with the food, that I ate there again the very next day! I love their very fresh Banh Mi. If you like fresh vegetables with sweet and tangy and spicy (jalapeño) tastes, you will love their food. There are both traditional and vegan options. I have eaten banh mi at several places, and this is my favorite!

Wonderful quick little Vietnamese joint. I had a delicious vermicelli bowl, the banh mi also looked tasty. Easy to get in and out during my lunch hour. Banh mi also bears reasonable prices (for the area) and kind staff. They have a substantial selection of fun drinks and tasty protein options.
Not perfect, the chicken was hastily chopped, but they were busy and my experience was great overall.

The food was subpar at best. I ordered a bahn mi with barbecued pork. To me, a bahn mi can be sort of like pizza in the way that even if it’s bad, it’s usually still alright. This bahn mi changed that for me. The meat was very oily and had a sickly sweet flavor to it. The vegetables were good, but the bread was so hard. I am confident it was just overly toasted and not stale though. I was able to finish it, so that’s something at least. I was certainly not thrilled about it. For $15 the bbq pork bahn mi is quite a bad value and I would not recommend.
I was the first person in line to order and the cashier was not attentive at all. Things happen and people are sometimes in the middle of things when you walk in, totally understand. The person behind me orders as well and also ordered a bbq pork bahn mi. This person decides to wait for their sandwich right next to the order receiving counter. The cashier that took my order calls out bbq pork bahn mi and slides it across the counter directly to the person waiting there when I ordered first! Sometimes things happen, and of course I am not going to attempt telling another patron “Hey, I think that is my sandwich” potentially escalating the situation. I figured because we both ordered the same thing, eventually I’ll get one as well. So, another worker calls out order ready and so then I go up to grab it. I went ahead and took the sandwich and asked the worker “This is bbq pork right?” and then he stares blankly at me like he either didn’t understand me or I was asking a stupid question. I ask again and no response.
So, as you can imagine, with this experience overall and the inconvenient location of this storefront, I would highly NOT recommend you visit. There’s definitely better options out there.

Family had sandwiches, pho, and vermicelli bowls for lunch on the way to Mendocino. Great service and excellent food. Highly recommend swinging by next time you are in town!

Driving on the way to Sonoma and we saw signs for banh mi and boba! We ordered bbq pork, spicy pork belly banh mi and strawberry fruit tea. Food and drink was delicious, came out quick and fresh. Staff were very friendly and kind! Definitely will be back when we are in the area! Thank you guys!

We had the Bahn Mi sandwich with crispy tofu as the protein. The roll was crunchy and chewy in all the right ways and the flavors of the veggies and tofu were spot on perfect. We will be back ASAP. Oh and the staff were very friendly and the service was quick.

Everything was great. We tried the traditional, mushroom, and beef banh mi all were really good and prepared as requested. The spring rolls were my favorite served with a good sized cup of peanut sauce. Went on two occasions around 2pm, exceptional service, highly recommend.

Great banh mi sandwiches. The bread was nice and soft+crusty, pickled veggies, jalapeño and cilantro, plus a good mayo ratio. Everything was prepared great, and it was well balanced.
But it is an expensive banh mi. The base cold cut banh mi sandwich is $11.50, to upgrade to bbq pork is an extra $1, and to add pate is $2. $14.50 for a standard banh mi.

I was so pleased to stumble across this restaurant. The spicy pork Banh MI sandwich was perfectly seasoned, served hot, and enjoyed thoroughly. I highly recommend.
