It was an okay experience. Did not enjoy the counter order – pay and tip before the meal style. Would have preferred full service restaurant experience with menu at the table. The parking lot entrance and exit is oddly placed especially trying to find the entrance. Meals are rather expensive. Brisket was the best item we ordered. Pulled pork was just average. Fries were okay. Greens were average. Not a fan of the mini sweet muffins. The booths and inside decor were terrific. We will probably eat at other bbq restaurants before coming here again. It’s not bad though just not worth driving across town. Teds and big Bob gibsons are much better bbq in my opinion.

If you haven’t tried them out, you’re missing out! Went tonight for the first time and everything we had was really good! It’s counter service but there are a lot of nice people in the dining area keeping the flow going and getting you whatever you need. The food was excellent and the staff were really nice! That’s a win win in my opinion! Will definitely be back and totally recommend!

Walking into the restaurant, the first thing that stood out was the lack of any wait. Even during what should’ve been a busy time, I was seated immediately, which already set the visit off on the right foot. The staff was genuinely attentive from the moment I sat down — checking in without hovering, answering questions, and making sure everything was taken care of before I even had to ask.
What really surprised me was how fast the food came out. From placing my order to seeing the tray hit the table, it couldn’t have been more than five minutes. Not the rushed, thrown-together kind of fast — more like a kitchen that actually knows what they’re doing.
The plate itself was a full spread. I ordered pulled pork, Carolina-style pulled pork, and a jalapeño cheddar sausage, and everything looked as good as it tasted. The pulled pork was tender and soaked up the sauce beautifully, the Carolina pulled pork had that tangy, vinegar-driven flavor that hits differently and gives each bite a clean, sharp finish, and the jalapeño cheddar sausage stole the show — browned perfectly, juicy inside, with just the right kick of heat and creamy pockets of cheese.
The sides tied everything together: crisp, seasoned fries served upright in a metal cup, smoky collard greens with bits of meat mixed in, and a few pickle slices that added that classic BBQ crunch and tang. The whole tray looked like a proper Southern comfort spread — generous portions, no unnecessary decoration, just solid, satisfying food.
Overall, it was a quick, smooth, and delicious experience from start to finish. Between the no-wait seating, the lightning-fast service, and the quality of the meal, this place is definitely worth coming back to.

It’s a great sign when you can actually see and smell the smoke from the barbecue cooker outback. And the taste comes through in the meat! The baked potatoes are as big as your foot. Roving servers ensure that every need is met as you chow down on this delicious ‘Q. Plenty of covered outdoor seating away from traffic. Since this is a new spot, obviously everything is sparkling and clean. We will definitely be back!

I’d give Jim & Nick a solid experience overall. Our server was very nice and friendly, even though a few things were forgotten along the way. Unfortunately, they had run out of potatoes, and they were also out of deviled eggs, which was a bit disappointing.
Still, the service attitude was positive, and the place has a good vibe. While it wasn’t a five-star visit for me, I’d be open to coming back and giving it another try, hoping for a more consistent experience next time.

I really hate to give this review, as I love Jim & Nicks, but today, we had a horrible ordering experience. We have been to numerous Jim & Nicks, but had a very poor experience walking into this one. Once we got to the table, the service was great, but our experience at the door was so bad that it literally makes me never want to come back to this location. The food was fantastic as always, but I have no idea why the experience with the person at the front door to get to the order counter was so impersonal and why we waited so long. Our experience has always been great at all other locations, so this stood out so badly.

We came the day after Thanksgiving this year and it was amazing! The weight staff was very friendly and willing to help each other out with their tables. If you order the barbecue potato, just know it is ginormous! The food was fantastic. There was booth and table seating available. There is a full bar available with bar seating

I had the great opportunity to participate in one of the two quality checks of the daily cuisines at Jim and Nicks. By far they out rank the other local BBQ restaurants in Huntsville. From the hospitality of the employees to the tenderness of the slow cooked meats, they completely and without doubt out rank the competition in Huntsville. Best catfish sandwich in Huntsville!!
