We had an absolutely fantastic evening at Karma Beach Lounge on St. John last night, hands down one of the food highlights of our trip! As someone who travels the world and has sampled sushi from Quebec to LA, I can honestly say their sushi is some of the best we’ve ever had.
The fish was incredibly fresh, the veggies super crisp, and the rolls were perfection. We especially loved the poke nachos – such a fun, creative twist with the cabbage and tuna combo that just hit all the right notes. And they were all served so well.
Our fresh mojito pitcher was great and refreshing, the perfect complement to the meal. Shout out to our servers G and J – they were attentive, friendly, and made us feel totally taken care of without hovering.
Sitting on the porch beachside at sunset was magical and the views were straight out of a postcard. The only minor thing is that it’s a popular spot with a fair bit of foot traffic, so if you’re after a bit more privacy, snag a seat right on the outer railing.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience, great food, top-notch service, and that unbeatable island vibe.
We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend!

So happy my husband and I decided to dine at Karma tonight. This was our first time on St. John and after a long day swimming and hiking we were starving. Jay was our server and she was amazing! So nice and extremely attentive to our table. We were in good hands. Our water cups were never empty. For drinks we got the “Ascension” (coconut mojito) and “Redemption Spritz” (raspberry rose spritz) and they were delish! For starters we got the Poke Nachos. Very good, very fresh. Loved the crunch on these. For mains, my husband got the “Island Bouillabaisse” and the broth was so freaking good. I kept asking for sips. I got the “Pan-Seared Mahi-Mahi” and it was a really good portion of fish! My husband had to help me finish it. The mango salsa paired so well with it—so good. For sides, we got fries and plantains. Delicious! The seasoning on the fries was really good. Lastly, I let Jay know that it was my husband’s birthday and she brought him a beautiful dessert to celebrate! I don’t know what it was but it tasted kind of like an elephant ear with vanilla ice cream. So yummy! Overall, such a good experience. And thank you Jay for being so amazing! She also gave us some great recommendations for other things we can do on St. John and St. Thomas before our trip is over. You made our night—thank you again!

The flavours were clean, well-presented, and executed with real precision—starting with the poké nachos and moving through the specialty rolls. The Cruz Bay Roll was the clear favourite, with the spicy tuna and tempura Dream Roll close behind.

The chefs and staff are top tier. Nixon our server was so pleasant and really helpful with the menu. The atmosphere is amazing, such a boho chic vibe with a touch of class and elegance. The prices for the quality are right on par. The rolls are filling and uniquely curated. The fish is so fresh and thank you presentation is exquisite! Really happy we decided to stop here even though we were heading for another restaurant. It was a wonderful happy accident. I will definitely be coming back whenever on the island. Well worth the ferry ride from St. Thomas if you’re not on St. John. Might have to stop back in now that I’ve written this review I am craving a couple more rolls. Though we didn’t try the bowls I imagine they are insanely flavorful and delicious this chef has been classically trained by Japanese sushi chefs and has a keen eye for quality and high standard.

We were expecting a great experience overall, but we got mixed results. The overall atmosphere was great. Sushi roll and tuna appetizer were great. Wahoo fresh fish was overcooked on both orders. A side dish never arrived. Service was very poor.
Our waitress would just dissappear for 20 minutes or more at a time.
Also 20% tip is automatically added to your tab regardless of party size and they never tell you upfront, nor is it noted on the menu. Meal was expensive and waitress definitely did not deserve a 20% tip.
Go for Sushi and ambiance and good mixed drinks, otherwise avoid it. Or just go for drinks at happy hour.

This was an incredible dinning experience for me and my party! Shoy gave us lovely service, great recommendations, and made the experience even better. We ordered the special of the night and it did not disappoint! Fresh seafood, amazing atmosphere, looking forward to coming back next time we visit.

I’ve been coming to St. John often And always wanted to try this place. Came here for lunch and it was terrible. They have sushi on the menu that honestly I would not serve that to anyone. Do not order that it was terrible. I questioned how fresh the fish was. And I was hoping I would not get sick after I ate it. But what made it even worse was our server? She was in la la land. Never really paying attention to our table. She kept forgetting things like our silverware, and our drinks just one hot mess.The place was empty, so I don’t understand what the problem was. It’s a shame because it’s a really beautiful restaurant in a great location with great views of the water. But the food and service need and a lot of work.

We reserved beachside dining and loved the experience. There was live music that was a bit loud, but we were sitting right next to them, so I’m sure it was fine. They were very enjoyable. We had a great server, it was a little slow, but we weren’t in a hurry and enjoyed the waves, the music and the beautiful evening. We all ordered fish and we all remarked that it was perfectly cooked and fresh flavors. I would go back and sit at the bar for sunset and drinks.
