Definitely check this place out! Went here for the first time today and the food is killer. I got a horchata, a pastor huarache & a side of chilaquiles to share. Horchata was perfect, a little bit of texture from the rice and the sweetness level was just right. The chilaquiles were good, but i definitely need to go back and try an actual plate with eggs and just focusing on them, but the flavor was good with the crema & cheese. The huaraches blew me out of the water, the grilled green onion, the cactus & the flavorful meat omg so good! I like that they do black beans inside of the masa as opposed to having refried beans on top it was perfect! I will be back 🙂

There were four of us dining in for dinner. The restaurant only has about three tables inside—not much in the way of atmosphere, but it’s clean and tidy. The food was good, and the portions were generous!
I had the Huarache al Pastor. It was a little burnt around the edges, but with a bit of sour cream, it was super delicious. I only ate half and boxed the rest because it’s quite large. I paired it with a Jarritos lime drink.
My girlfriend had an enchilada dish with steak and avocado. My uncle’s girlfriend went with vegetarian enchiladas with cheese and avocado, and my uncle ordered a steak Huarache. He got his usual, which they consider spicy. It had a nice kick—not overwhelming, just a little heat. I went with mild since it was my first time there, and while it had good flavor, there was zero zing to it.
Prices are reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes. We saw a steady stream of people picking up to-go orders. The menu is huge—almost overwhelming. I was hesitant to order something too deep into the menu because places that try to do too much often don’t do it well. That said, overall, I’d definitely go back.

What a fabulous find new found favorite for authentic Mexican food. I got their three taco special steak with rice and beans. It was delicious to say the least. The servive was impeccable friendly attentive and very nice. They provided service with a smile and the atmosphere just added to the authentication. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of some incredible Mexican food. We will be back time and time again glad we found this diamond

Do you want authentic, you want to feel like you’re in Mexico eating a taco. Come here. Try their steak taco. This is one of the best tacos I have ever had. Reasonably priced, good portions wholesome service and it really can’t get more authentic than this. I don’t eat pork, I actually get a rash when I do even from cross contamination, they cooked my food separate. So accommodating and thoughtful. If you’re in the Tampa area stop here even if it’s out of the way. Do it. Theres even a window you can order from the outside. There’s seating inside. Restroom super clean !!! They’ve been in business for 16 years. Trust. Take my money typa place. Do not miss this spot!!!!!!!!

The tostadas ceviche de camaron were a definite 10/10 for me. Will be ordering again for sure (and probably seeing them in my dreams). My boyfriend really enjoyed the chorizo and pollo tinga tacos as well. A new go to spot for some authentic Mexican food

The BEST mexican. Period. Miguels in tampa comes close…but only close. This little family gem has a broad menu, well prepared, and with a variety in each dish. No liquor yet… but the food makes up for it. Friendly staff great service and not just signature dishes but beverages…the horchata agua fresca is amazing. Huaraches great, the variety in enchiladas is worth exploring. Well be back….a LOT!!!

The food at El Huarache Veloz is delicious, but my experience wasn’t perfect. The huarache I ordered was tasty, but it arrived a little colder than I expected. The service was friendly, though, and the place had a nice vibe. I’ll probably give it another try next time.

I must admit the place is very unassuming on the outside and a little small on inside. That is where the concerns end. The food and service was fantastic and very authentic. We have eaten in Tijuana and Guadalajara so they hold up to those standards. Also the portions are for good appetites. Very very good tastes and we will be back.
update2023 May : I’ve eaten here 10 more times and it still is consistent and still good and still authentic. They need to expand their eating space that is the biggest problem right now because the food is so damn good.
Update: Went again and the chef came out with the food which was again wonderful and made from scratch. Picture of Bistec added. Why are the beans so good?!?! lol
