I can’t say enough good things about The Red Rooster in Durham! From the moment you walk in, it feels like home, especially if you’re lucky enough to get Mama Theresa as your server. Her service is absolutely impeccable; she treats you like family and makes sure your coffee and smile are always full.
The portions? Absolutely massive and downright delicious. I had the prime rib breakfast, and wow perfectly pink, melt-in-your-mouth prime rib, crispy hash browns, and eggs done just right. The pancakes are as big as the plate and come with that glorious scoop of butter that melts into every bite. And the prices? Let’s just say I almost felt guilty for paying so little for food this good.
If you’re anywhere near Durham, stop at The Red Rooster. Ask for Mama Theresa, you’ll walk out happy and full, already planning your next visit. Everything will be back on my table next time I’m here!

This is the kind of place every community needs. It is a kind, well-executed locus of this small town. My friends and I go up once a year and our waitress remembers us, and treats us as if were family every time. The food is well above average for this kind of spot. Everything they do is absolutely solid. To be able to walk in and know you will never be disappointed is a blessing that Red Rooster delivers on with great care!

Another visit to this little hole in the wall amazing breakfast establishment. Got a large chicken fried steak with 3 eggs overeasy and 2 eggs scrambled with 2 bacon (2+2). Absolutely amazing quality on the food and food was out incredibly fast during a very busy service. All in all great visit and can’t wait to come back. 15/15

The biggest breakfast portions you’ve ever had at great prices! Not a single of my teenagers was able to finish their meal (which should tell you everything you need to know about portion sizes). Great prices. We’ll be back!

Wow! This place was amazing! The customer service was great, the country/small town atmosphere was really cool and the food was delicious! I’ve am so glad I tried the Red Rooster Cafe out. I will definitely be back soon. I had the double bacon cheeseburger and beer batter onion rings. The onion rings were so fresh and had the perfect crunch. The double bacon cheeseburger was massive, just the way I like it. The bacon and beef were high quality and soooo tasty!
