Capital Grille Legacy Place (Dine Out Week)

Overall Experience

Dine Out Week is the absolute best time to visit Capital Grille. It offers a high-end, delicious dining experience at a much more affordable price point.

Food & Value

For $55 per person, the value was unbeatable. Everything we ordered was consistently delicious:
• Appetizer: Fresh, crisp salad.
• Main: Perfectly prepared Filet.
• Sides: Creamed spinach and mashed potatoes.
• Dessert: Rich, classic cheesecake.

The Ambiance

The atmosphere here is sophisticated and intentional.
• Decor: Beautifully designed and elegant.
• Noise Level: The music is at the perfect volume. You can actually enjoy a conversation with your partner without yelling—which is a relief because we are at a restaurant, not a disco.

Service Highlights

The staff truly made the evening special. A huge thank you to:
• Jesse R. (Our waiter)
• Maria

They both took excellent care of us and provided top-tier service from start to finish.

We had an awesome, fantastic and amazing time! Kyrsta was oir server is one of the best servers I have ever had domestically or abroad. She gave super suggestions on how to make my partner’s birthday meal special. She had great personality and was always there to tend to what ever we needed.

The Ribeeye was cooked to perfection (got a blue cheese crumble melted on top, dont tell my doc lol). We added a South Africa lobster tail which was some of the sweetest lobster I have enjoyed.

Overall, A+. The hosts asked were we celebrating anything when we told the birthday it was on! We got to the table and it was adorned with birthday glitter, a birthday card and they served us complimentary cheesecake and chocolate cake (hope my doc never reads this!).

Keep shining. We see you!

The Capital Grille in Dedham was outstanding — probably the best one I’ve been to. The steaks were amazing, and everything else we tried was top tier too: lobster, calamari, and dessert all delivered.

The staff were genuinely brilliant — professional, warm, and on it all night — and the wine was excellent, with great recommendations and service.

The only downside was the crowd wasn’t exactly the coolest, but the staff more than make up for it. A superb meal and absolutely worth it.

Private room dining experience. Service was exceptional, restaurant had open, airy main dining area, yet warm and inviting ambiance. Private room was nice and cozy.
Fillet mignon was cooked perfect to order.
Sides were amazing! Mashed potatoes were perfectly smooth and creamy, Lobster macaroni, asparagus were delicious.
Seafood tower was great, except shrimp cocktails were overcooked, just as most other restaurants do…
Calamari app was average, not as crispy I like them to be.
I’d love to return for vibrant bar scene.

We went to celebrate a special occasion and our experience was AWESOME!!!!! The food was delicious. So delicious that my high school son said he wanted to grow up and get a good job so he could go to places like Capital Grille all the time! And my son is very hard to impress!!!!

We went for lunch because we don’t have the means for dinner prices. But one day, we definitely will go back to try the dinner offerings.

The only thing that bothered me is on their website, they explain their dress code. While we were there, I saw various individuals not following the dress code. I made my whole family, including kids, dress to the restaurant’s standards. The dress code is not enforced and it was disappointing because the website makes a point to potential clients to dress up.

An evening at The Capital Grille in Dedham, Massachusetts unfolded with the kind of precision and warmth that lingers long after the final course. There are meals, and then there are orchestrations, this was the latter.

The night opened with a quiet crescendo, Executive Chef Oscar arrived tableside, not as a formality, but as a harbinger of something deeply intentional. What followed was a steady cadence of dishes that balanced indulgence with restraint, each presented with the kind of confident simplicity that only comes from a kitchen rooted in technique.

The lobster bisque, rich, velvety, and theatrically poured over tender morsels, carried just the right wisp of sherry to elevate without overwhelming. A spinach salad, too often an afterthought elsewhere, became revelatory with Riesling-poached pears and the deep nuttiness of brown butter vinaigrette.

Seafood showed particularly well. Cast-iron shrimp bathed in white wine and tomato offered a rustic elegance, while the grilled Australian lobster tail, served with only lemon and drawn butter, was a masterclass in letting pristine ingredients speak for themselves.

Then came the beef, dry-aged porterhouse and a bone-in ribeye, both cooked with precision and served with reverence. These were not simply steaks, they were an essay in flavor, texture, and time-honored craft.

Side dishes played no supporting role here. The creamed corn was smoky with bacon, Sam’s mashed potatoes indulgently smooth, and the shiitake mushrooms, finished with truffle aioli, rich enough to linger in memory.

Dessert arrived not as an epilogue, but as a triumphant encore. A tray of confections, brûléed cheesecake, coconut cream pie, a silken crème brûlée, and an apple tarte elevated by miso butterscotch and a toasted almond-honey ice cream. This was the kind of finale that leaves a hush at the table.

The evening closed with cappuccinos, each accompanied by a crystal stir of rock candy, an elegant nod to the restaurant’s thoughtful approach, right to the end.

Chef Oscar and Managing Partner David presided over the night with genuine hospitality, the sort that transforms a meal into something far more lasting. It was an evening marked not just by excellence, but by care, a rare and beautiful thing.

Absolutely incredible!

The food was amazing and the staff is incredible and so attentive. I got the glazed salmon. At first I thought the price was a bit high for the amount of food that I got, however that opinion quickly went away as soon as I took the first bite of the fish. It was amazing, completely melted in my mouth. Everyone at my table absolutely raves about the food they ordered, whether it was the soup, crab cakes, steak, Mac’n’cheese or anything else they got. I would highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion!

Thank you so much to our server Tony for his amazing personality and making my mother’s birthday so nice!

My visit to Capital Grille left me with mixed feelings. The restaurant has a decent-sized parking lot, but many spots are reserved for valet, so you may need to park in the lower lot and walk. Inside, the bathroom was clean and pleasantly lit with a scented candle, but I was surprised by the lack of a front-door waiting area—there’s nowhere to sit while you wait to be called. Even with a reservation, you might need to wait and there is hardly any standing room there as people come and go. The prices here are steep, to say the least. Entrees come solo, with sides sold separately at portions large enough for two or maybe three people. The bar looked nice. However, snagging a seat at the bar is nearly impossible. The dining area offers plenty of booths and a side room that seems reserved for special events.
As for the food, we ordered different steaks, but they were a letdown. The meat was clearly under-seasoned—or possibly not seasoned at all—which is disappointing for the price. A touch of salt (I’m no salt fanatic) helped salvage the flavor, but you shouldn’t have to play chef at a place like this. Our server and their assistant runner were excellent, providing attentive and friendly service. Unfortunately, the noisy atmosphere made it hard to hold a conversation without raising our voices. I’d heard Capital Grille was the gold standard for steaks, and expected the cats meow, but sadly, the cat wasn’t meowing for us. For the cost, I expected more flavor and finesse.
