I went in because of the hype. But I was the first person there on Tuesday morning. Got the buffalo chicken and cheesesteak Cooper cheese. I only ate a quarter of each because they’re big as hell. My tastebuds wanted me to finish eating both sandwiches entirely lol so since I ate a half a sandwich it was just half cheesesteak Cooper cheese and the other half buffalo chicken. The buffalo chicken is cubed pieces of breast meat, so don’t think you’re gonna get thinly sliced cheesesteak but in a chicken form, which is what I thought. So it’s very filling! It doesn’t have an overpowering buffalo taste which is great and I’m a person who loves spicy food and buffalo sauce is no problem. But I think they did this just right, so anybody who’s not a fan of buffalo can still get this and enjoy it greatly was about 20 minutes if you’re the first person there and you’re getting two different sandwiches The line started for me by the time I was done there was probably 15 people there. The atmosphere was chill. Graffiti designs on the inside Spanish music was bumping Medical cat lives in the Old Bridge Serville section who goes around tasting food places we chopped it up for a bit while we wait for our food . We put each other up on different spots, but I definitely like this spot! I will be back. My next time will be to get the chicken wings, the peanut butter and the strawberry specifically if you catch my drift, do you know what I’m trying to do lol.

American Melts off of Route 22 in Kennelworth, NJ is the place to be. easy parking, walk up to the window and check out the menu’s multiple types of sandwiches they make. Start by creating your own if your not in a rush. Check out the Special sandwich menu that includes the Mac and cheese, Brie, Ruben, Big Tex and so on. You won’t be disappointed. They even include Vegan options as well. You can order online for easy pickup and they’re open 7 days a week. We love the create your own grill cheese process as well. The tater tots and Mac and cheese are pretty impressive to. Plenty of breads to choose from including “Gluten free” items. Highly recommended. Enjoy!

What an awesome place! We got three “design your own” grilled cheese sandwiches taking our cues from some of the existing combos. The rye bread is fantastic. Fresh ingredients in perfect proportions, friendly staff. You can’t ask for much more. I’ll be back.

Honestly a really chill sandwich shop, that I would argue, makes the best melts in Jersey. This place is a true gem. Before you come just know there is limited seating and parking. But I have never had a challenge finding a spot to eat.

The tomato soup was disappointingly watery. It almost taste like they put cumin in it, and it definitely should have been creamier. HOWEVER, the service was top-notch! Very good service. The sandwiches were delicious. The tatertots could have used some salt, pepper, and less oil but were decent. Nice area. Nice parking lot. Nice people.

All of their sandwiches looked so good I let AI choose one for me (pastrami Rueben) and I’m so glad I tried it! It was such a delicious and comforting grilled cheese made to perfection. This place is a tiny little shack and easy to miss, but 1000% worth stopping by!
