The before and after should speak for itself. Out of pure curiosity I stopped here during a walk. Out of loads of sushi places I have visited, their rice has a proper lightly roasted taste to it. This is rare to find, the rice temperature is also matched to the dish you order. That said, fish is fresh but the cook excels in chicken based dishes. The dish shown above is their Chicken teriyaki. All featured items shown are not muffled, each pronounces their unique flavors while still working alongside the sauces. Nothing I tasted is overwhelming and plays well together. Also! This place is quiet! Even on a Friday, holiday weekend. Mainly visited by reoccurring locals, you can actually sit and enjoy your meal here without being pressured to eat quickly. Stay, enjoy, and love food, this is a proper place to enjoy.

LarderRoom…Sakura Sunday!! I’ll say it again, best take out in the 757! Hibachi Filet & Shrimp w/Fried Rice….and you can’t forget the Shrimp Tempura Roll! Staff is always helpful. Restaurant is clean and the take out is awesome! Enjoy!

One of my favorite stop spots for sushi.
The employees are very friendly and polite.
Throw $5 tip in the jar while Chef is prepping food and watch what Chef brings you.

Upon entry to the establishment we were not greeted and told that they don’t have a kids menu. We had three children of ages two and three we asked to look at the menu. She continued to say that she doesn’t think the children would eat the items on the menu as if we didn’t know our own children, very unprofessional and slight racism hinted.

The restaurant is kept VERY clean, the staff are very courteous and kind. The prices have got to be some of the best in the area, and the food itself is WONDERFUL!

All things considered, this is a wonderful little local restaurant and is one of my most frequent stops for take-out.

Came in with my children and the lady tried to say they didn’t have a kids menu and that they just had sushi. After asking to look at the menu she proceeded to say that their chicken teriyaki wasn’t for kids.
Felt very unwelcome and racially profiled based off her demeanor.
Don’t go here if you have kids they aren’t welcome!

Attentive, friendly service and appetizing food to match. We started our lunch with a bowl of spicy kim chee seafood soup and a regular bowl of seafood soup; they were hot and delicious with the kim chee not being too spicy. The shrimp and krab were paired deliciously with celery and cabbage in a clear broth.

Rather than order a lunch special we ordered 4 specialty rolls (the Dragon, Kamikaze, Twin Tower, andKing Crab Ichiban). Since there were only two of us we could not finish half of the four rolls because they were quite large compared to what we’ve had at other sushi places. The rolls were refreshingly flavorful even with the “crab” being krab and the prices were fair compared to my favorite sushi places downtown Norfolk.

We will definitely return as a family. This visit for us was a working lunch and this seemed to be the case for others dining in with workmates aside from the 1 family we saw.

Based on the location and basic outside appearance, I did not expect such a lovely atmosphere. The decor was pleasant and clean with ample seating from the front to the back of the restaurant where there was a flat screen TV mounted high up on the wall.

A wonderful restaurant with some delicious food! We loved both times we came here. Try the Tonkatsu! It’s delicious. Also, check out their special Sushi menu on the tables, my wife got a huge platter and loved it.

This little hole in the wall had high hopes for me because I’ve eaten at the Sakura in the Kempsville area and was pretty satisfied, however, this restaurant is NOT “all you can eat” like the other location so I will drive the extra 10 minutes to go there instead of paying 50$ for mediocre sushi.
