After being in Mammoth on and off for the last two months while my husband worked, we’ve tried so many places — and I can’t believe I only found Bar Sierra at the end of our stay! We came here two days in a row because the food was just that good. The ribeye was phenomenal — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Being from SoCal, we’re spoiled with tons of food options, but this place absolutely hit the mark. My daughter loved the ribs — the meat literally fell off the bone. Next time we’re in town, we’ll definitely be back!

Good fresh food, diverse menu, and lively vibe. Have eaten here a few times and food did not disappoint. Friendly staff and good drinks and beer menu. Atmosphere is fun and welcoming with a mix of bar and table seating. There is a game room in the back.

Cool spot, good service. I was in burger mood which was good, but they had quality fancier items – both daily specials and menu items. Healthy options too.

Plenty of TVs. Lots of space. Clean.

Some dishes are pretty good like their salads. My steak was junk. I can make better steak in a toaster oven. Drinks were reasonably good. Staff is aloff. Overall this place is in the 3 to 4 out of 5 range.

This review is for a server that felt she needed to make a presence not the actual GREAT server we had.

I truly wish this review could be different, because Bar Sierra has a fun atmosphere and the food itself has always been decent. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was overshadowed by one staff member who made the experience genuinely unpleasant from start to finish.

There is a particular waitress—older, very skinny, wearing obvious fake glasses—who never gives her name and seems to go out of her way to make guests feel unwelcome. The moment we were seated, she acted annoyed, and before we even had a chance to order, she came by and removed the menus from our table without a word. She never checked on us, never came around to take orders, and when we eventually had to go up to the bar to order our own drinks and food, she rolled her eyes at us as if we were inconveniencing her.

It didn’t stop there. At one point, she openly talked negatively about our party within earshot of others—completely unprofessional and honestly shocking for any restaurant, let alone a place in Mammoth where hospitality is usually top-notch.

This wasn’t a one-time moment of stress or a busy-night slip. Her attitude was consistently rude, dismissive, and disrespectful. It’s disappointing and honestly embarrassing behavior for a place that should be focused on creating a welcoming environment for visitors.

I hope management takes this seriously, because Bar Sierra could be a great stop—but as long as this staff member continues treating customers this way, it’s impossible to recommend the experience.

Not sure why this place is rated just 3.8 right now. Service was great and the food was amazing. Much better than anything we had at other places around town. Would have eaten there again if there would have been time!

Not sure why it has such low reviews. Sometimes gruff service and no host means it’s jockeying for tables a bit. Food is fine, nothing super special but beats Mexican or pizza. Arcade games for the kids is a total win for a somewhat relaxing adults dinner!

I’ll be honest, I have hesitated before posting this review. I think Bar Sierra is one of the best kept secret in Mammoth lake for good food, atmosphere and tap beers. Located in a beautiful and large A-frame style house, this restaurant offers a short but great menu with a couple of vegetarian option such as the collard melt that has became one of my favorites when going to Mammoth. They do organize a few trivia night and host from time to time live music. The space besides being gorgeous also offer a side arcade game room that makes it an instant success for kids (and parents)
