This is my go to place whenever I visit Madison. It has changed since I visited last time. They changed the AYCE system and the display to the buffet style. I love this change much better! Fresh veggies and for the lunch, you will get two boxes of meat per person. I strongly recommend this place if you are a hot pot lover.

My friends and I have come to this location and the previous one on state street very frequently over the past two years. On our past visit, we were very disappointed by both the food and the service. First, the self serve area was pretty much empty and many items were not refilled for the entire 1.5 hours+ we were there. We also felt like the servers were not paying much attention, as they forgot to give us waters, ladles and tongs.

The biggest issue we had was ordering appetizers and meat. After our first round, we ordered another round of meat and appetizers, but it never came. We ended up having to ask our server 3 times just for 1 order of meat. We were also cut off from appetizers – out table of 3 had consumed a total of 3 scallops and 3 potstickers, yet the server told us we could not have anymore appetizers as the chef/owner? would “be upset” since they were serving too much food. I understand an AYCE cutting patrons off for extreme quantities, but we barley touched the appetizers and were cut off due to stinginess. We will not be coming back to this establishment, which is a shame as we use to love dining here and would come frequently.

Great place to get some hotpot. A bit pricy, but it’s worth it as a little treat. Tons of foods to choose from and it’s very chilly and relaxed. Great place for kids too, because they get to choose what they eat. If your kids are always choosing chicken nuggets or Mac and cheese at restaurants, then take them to this one and let them pick whatever they want. Fun and wholesome all around.

Do not put your hands in the boiling hotpot water.

Had a great dinner! Very clean and good service. Liked that a lot of it was self service as it gets awkward asking for more after the fourth time.

Broth was fantastic and really enjoyed all the choices. I didnt eat lunch so I could eat as much as possible and they delivered!

It was overall an okay dinning experience but no one checked on our broth and refilled it. So the hotpot was just too thick at the end. There were also a lot of items that were also items that had ran out and wish there was more options for carbs/veggies.

We had a decent time here and the service was good. The flavor and quality of many of the items left a lot to be desired. It was a novel experience but just like most all you can eat experiences it’s about quantity not quality! The exception was the fried crab ragoons and pot stickers that were made to order, those were fabulous!

I love this new hotpot place. You can do a huge one for the table or individual ones. All the ingredients were fresh and the service/waiter was so sweet. He explained how everything worked and did his best to make sure we were good, even when it starting getting super busy.

They are brand new and currently doing a soft opening where the all you can eat is only 30$ per person! Afterwards I think it will go up to 32/34$ which with all the veggies and meat options its still a rather good deal! I will definitely be back this winter for some more.

Hot pot 608 is one of the nicest hotpot restaurants we visited in Madison, WI. Service is nice and friendly. Tabletops support split or multiple broth pots. The bone broth is really nicely done.
They have large refrigerators full of fresh ingredients to choose from – including seafood, meats, vegetables etc.
Pro-tip – the parking lot fills up very quickly. They have another parking lot on the opposite side of the restaurant near the tattoo parlor. Just drive past the restaurant and make an immediate right to pull in.
Other tips – they have a large refrigerator full of beers. All good. Spitted cow the best.
Another pro tip – Tarot root is delicious but let it cool down a bit before trying to eat it. It gets amazingly hot.

Been coming here since they opened, and it has always been a great experience. Staff are friendly and attentive; the vast majority of their food items are always in stock and replenished quickly; the food tastes fresh; and you get access to a huge variety of options between a la carte and the appetizer/meat menu. The only thing I would suggest is their child pricing is a bit steep as kids under 5 are free, but 5-12 is like 15 dollars. Our child is five and barely eats anything, so it’s hard to justify coming here with him as the price difference is quite noticeable when you factor him in.

Came here on a Sunday morning, not too busy.
Ordered only beef and lamb for the meat and when we got our meat, they only dropped off one plate of meat, with 5 rolled up pieces of meat and maybe a handful of meat that was all chopped up into little pieces, kind of like scraps, ontop of the plate. Looked around and we saw everyone elses meat plates were rolled up nicely and had more than 5 pieces on each plate, and everyone else got more than 2 plates each time. Mind you, it was my girlfriend and I, and every other table had 2 people as well. Did multiple rounds of meat, all to which were served the same plates of 5 pieces of meat and scraps from the bottom ontop, and still saw everybody elses meat plates looked nothing like ours. We paid and left, and I didn’t tip, because why would I need to tip when all he did was bring us 4-5 rounds of meat. It seemed like a chore for him to bring us meat when we asked. So we paid and left, got to my car, and I saw him come out with the check in his hand. He tapped on my window with the check, and asked “ No tip?” To which I responded with “No, All you gave us was scrap meat” and he just turned and went back in. If he were to give us service that warranted a tip, I generally tip 25%
