Just go somewhere else. If you absolutely have to have sushi and you’re in Bethel then you have no choice. But I would avoid it. I love sushi. I eat it whenever I can. I wish I’d gone somewhere else. The service was great, but the food was SUPER slow, small portions, and poorly prepared. We ordered at 5:15 and the food didn’t come until 6:20. I ordered Sushi Deluxe and my wife order the Dragon Roll. We ended up finishing two drinks each before the food came out. It seemed like they were able to serve one table at a time. We didn’t get our food until the two other tables that were there had already paid. Then the food finally came and it was just plain sad. It looked like the sashimi was cut with a plastic knife. The rolls had 3 pieces each (6 total) and they were so tiny. This is the least food I’ve ever been served for $36. It’s not worth it. The only reason this place is still open is they get new skiers every day that don’t know the place stinks. I rarely write bad reviews but I figured it might save you the trip.

Wow! What a great experience! Amazing food, great flavors, awesome service (thanks Savanah!), excellent aesthetic, cozy seating, and even the fried iced cream was perfection to the meal. If I didn’t live 90 minutes away, I xould see myself visiting quite frequently. This I now my daughter’s new favorite restaurant, and honestly, I’ve got to say, it’s in my top 3.

They hit it “out of the park” once again !! We visit every summer and our first night out is always Cho Sun. Always a perfect meal on the porch. Excellent service!!

We have been in the past and like the food a lot, but they have always had extremely slow service. Last night we waited an hour for appetizers and after another hour our dinner didn’t show up so we left. The server didn’t come over to our table at all and forgot to put our order in unfortunately.

Bethel is definitely the place to be for outdoor dining and small town charm. I was craving sushi after having gelato and wanted to pop in to try Cho Sun. The owner and her son were very pleasant, social and great to talk to. The restaurant was beautifully decorated on the inside with cultural aesthetics. I wasn’t really interested in the selection of cocktails that were offered and usually get a Lychee or Pear Martini when having Japanese. They were out of the ingredients to make both the Lychee or Pear Martinis. I tried the Ginger Blossom but did not enjoy the drink and couldn’t taste any of the other components but ginger. I ended up ordering the Japanese Mule which was good. We ordered the Philly Roll and the Crunchy Roll. I felt they were both ok but didn’t wow me necessarily. Maybe it was just the rolls I selected. The server was great, friendly and accommodating. We sat on the porch outside which was great with the warm weather. On street parking easily available.

Best sushi ever here it’s more than just delicious it’s extremely appetizing. The wings are also a great selection appetizer as well as the soups! Pre-covid i loved going to there soup bar they hosted in the Sunday River Lodge, hopefully it’ll come back around sometime. The restaurant is great, customer is very friendly and welcoming, the style of the space is very elegant but is casual dress. Great place selection of food to stop in with group or couples.

A little bit of a weird and fun find in Bethel. You walk onto an expansive porch of an old wooden house, into a black and red Asian themed restaurant, which kind of morphs into backwoods Maine as you walk towards the bar.
Anyway, the sushi was pretty good, the staff was really nice, and the price was reasonable. The porch was nice, except the trucks blowing past were kind of a lot.

Best sushi we ever had. 2020
Update 2021:
They went downhill. The roll we ordered was supposed to be deep fried crab like last time. Now it’s only got a little bit and the rest is imitation fake Pollack stick. For an expensive roll I don’t want fake crab. The other rolls were bland. The eel roll was very bland. The server was ok but wasn’t very attentive when we needed more beverages. Needless to say I will not come back next year. The first photos with the wooden plate were from the 2020 trip. The white plate is the 2021 disappointment sushi. I’m pretty sure it had mostly to do with the sushi rice was not cooked correctly. It tasted like Uncle Ben’s unsweetened bagged rice. And it was very very mushy.

We LOVE the ambiance of this restaurant! Except for the temperature. we’ve been a few times this winter & it’s way too hot in there, always! However, it is absolutely beautiful inside and out, but the service needs improvement, A LOT of improvement. Food takes FOREVER to come out, always. We were there for over an hour and a half before we got any of our orders and even then more than half off us had to wait even longer while the others at the table had their dinner. They don’t bring appetizers quickly either & you have to specify if you want them 1st. We had a reservation for 7 of us and they acted very confused when we arrived right on time, we stood there in the way of existing customers for about 20 minutes while they got the table ready for us. They asked us each individually if we wanted water, we all said yes please and they continued to ask each person and needed us to hand them our glasses, & then they ran out of water in the pitcher before we all had some and they never came back to give the last person theirs….The Cham Pong (seafood soup) is the best item on the menu, it’s a huge portion with a lot of seafood in it. The sushi is okay, but nothing special.
