I absolutely LOVE this spot!!! The food was on point and the banana pudding is my new favorite. I got the smothered pork chops, with cornbread, mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese. It was so tender and full of flavor! I will be recommending it and bringing coworkers for lunch often.

Just ate here for the first time. We will definitely be back! There were 3 of us plus our grandson. We tried all 3 specials and every side, except cabbage and the pintos, we’ll get those next time. Everything was perfection! The sisters, and niece, were so personable… hilarious, really…I felt like I was at my own house! Everyone that came in was welcomed like a family member. The food was amazing, but the atmosphere was definitely a plus. Definitely recommend!

I get that it’s a family run homestyle restaurant, but for $16/plate I expect fresh, hot food. I ordered catfish, Mom ordered chicken, the fish was hot & chicken was greasy but hot; the sides were “left on the counter cool/cold”. The cornbread would not even melt butter. When I complained about the freshness of the food, my waitress responded with it was MADE TODAY. I responded with “cld it be fresh & hot on my plate? “. That’s when doors started slamming and the waitress got an attitude. Popeyes & Jacks are better.

Jacksonville Homestyle Eatery is truly one of the greatest restaurants that Jacksonville, Alabama has to offer. I went there a few weeks ago after not wanting to visit restaurants I had been to numerous times. As I first sat down and looked at the menu, I had no idea how the restaurant operated. On their menu, they presented many entrees, but they changed each day. For example; on Monday they would serve fried chicken, and on Tuesday they would serve meatloaf, so each day you get something different. I went on Tuesday and forced myself to order their meatloaf. I usually do not eat meatloaf, but I really did not want to eat at the same old places. So, I promptly ordered the meatloaf with candied yams and mac and cheese. Their mac and cheese was rich and creamy, and their yams had just the right amount of sweetness. But their meatloaf was by far the standout of the meal as it was cooked perfectly. I genuinely believe that they serve some of the best food I have ever had in my entire life. The workers made the entire environment feel warm and welcoming. Some people might feel limited as they only serve one entree per day, which also means that people must plan their visits around the menu, which is a downfall. But overall, I can absolutely see myself recommending this restaurant to others, and I had an outstanding time at Jacksonville Homestyle Eatery.

I just placed my first order, it was online, I ordered a meat and 2 with chicken thigh and wing, pintos, and Mac n cheese, and a meat and 3 with double breast, Mac n cheese, okra, and pintos. I just need to know which one of the ladies up there is single lol, cause I need this food in my life daily!!! Food is amazing! All the ladies were super sweet!!! Found my new go to spot

The food here is sooooo good. Great southern food. I have never had anything so good. Tritip was flavorful, mashed potatoes were unbelievable, Mac and cheese was top notch, and the banana pudding desert was out of this world.
