Walking in one could tell this is a great spot. At 5pm on a weekday, tables are already filling up. Then I hear it “Welcome to Turbo’s!” it wasn’t just a rehearsed greeting… it was genuine.
Now what led me to this place was the prospect of a blueberry margarita….. which sadly they don’t have, but hey I can adapt! I started watching the drink menu on one of the many flat-screens. I saw the ‘Ocean Water’ and was curious. I asked the server whats in it and man did it sound amazing. She sits this beautiful drink in front of me telling me it is a ‘Tipsy Turtle’ she was wrong about the ocean water recipe. Cool, I try it and that was the best mistake she could have made!
I ordered the sirloin dinner on a bed of asparagus (I mean YUM!). My steak grilled to perfection and seasoned delightfully well, my asparagus was so crisp and tender at the same time. (I swear the staff need pay raises. dead serious!) This was the BEST steak that I have ever had the pleasure of masticating! That meal is forever in my memory.
The only downfall about the place…….. It is no where near where I live.
This is a must when in Independence Kansas, cause if you don’t…. shame on you!

Great food, excellent service, and a really nice atmosphere. Our server was Megan, she is super cute, friendly and efficient. The food was very good, a nice dinner for around $30 per person, including drinks. The atmosphere is that of a small town pub. You find young, old, families and everything in between. As far as I know, it changes after 10:00 pm, becoming more of a real pub (bar) and minors are not allowed after that time

My friend and I just attempted to eat at Turbo’s tonight for dinner and were refused service due to having a task trained service dog (which has public access protection under the Americans with disabilities act, AKA federal law.) We tried explaining the law to the employe (Caleb) who was very dismissive and informed us we needed to leave.
