Cumin has been on my list to try for quite a while. Tucked away in a peaceful location, I liked the peace and quiet.
I came here for the vegan options and their menu was easy to read. Although, I must have been looking at an older image of a menu on Yelp because vegan options were limited. But they existed.
I ordered a vegetable pakora and a vegetable curry. I was asked what level heat from 1 to 5. I said 4 because I like a little inferno in my mouth. And the heat level 4 was a negative 6 for me. So next time, I’ll ask for level 12.4. Now, I know I’m a white girl but this girl and take some scorch. I was a little disappointed in the heat level being so low.

My vegetable pakora was well done (pics). I was also the only person in the dining room on a Sunday night. Maybe the cook had to check a text and forgot about the well done pakora in the fryer.

I’d consider giving them another try but would give another place a go first. I’m obsessed just with Indian food and love it so much. My favorite place is in Windsor on the green. Its just a trek for me.

In my humble opinion the best Indian food in Santa Rosa. The guys working the restaurant are all very friendly and helpful. It’s a simple restaurant that’s very much hidden away. I’ve had a variety of curries and found them to be very good. I haven’t tried any tandoori dishes. Definitely will be back again to dine in. Prices are very reasonable.

It was an average indian restaurant.
Many Indian food choices are available here, surprisingly Indian food got fried rice, I guess this has been localized, overall the price is acceptable. Service is good.
Visit during dinner time, surprised not many people in the restaurant, I believe mostly they are doing take away orders.

We visited this restaurant on the way back from Glass Beach in Fort Bragg for dinner. As one can imagine after 2.5 hours drive on windy road on CA128, the stomach was all well twisted and ready for a heavy dinner to finish up remaining 1.5 hours drive to get home. We were greeted by Amrit (our server) with a smile and he arranged a table for us. We ordered a lot of food but the highlight was Daal Makhani and mango chutney; I don’t think we had that good of Daal and chutney ever before in Bay Area. The service was top notch, especially, the timing and gaps between the appetizers and main course was well balanced. The ambience was very calm and quiet. Anytime in future; if we will be heading up north from Bay Area this restaurant will be our all time favorite stop to grab a lunch or dinner. Thank you so much Cumin staff!! And… we were so hungry that we forgot to click food pics …

Ordered the Chicken Tiki Marsala, and it was absolutely a poor rendition of this dish.

The chicken tasted like it was frozen past its prime, and the flavor of the marsala was like a spicy tomato soup.

It really lacked the many vibrant flavors that are characterized in a great Chicken Tiki Marsala. Was highly disappointed…

However, the Samosa’s and garlic Naan bread were good.

Very nice surprise. We recently tried Cumin after already enjoying two Indian/Nepalese restaurants nearby. The tastes here were wonderfully different from what we’ve had elsewhere. Service was good and parking was plentiful. We will return. It’s only a couple of miles from home.

I had an amazing experience at Cumin Indian Nepalese Restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious — full of authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. Every dish was fresh, well-presented, and reminded me of home-style cooking with a fine-dining touch.

The service was excellent, and I especially want to mention Binod, who went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable. He was attentive, friendly, and made great recommendations from the menu. It really showed that he cares about the guests and their satisfaction.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and welcoming, perfect for both family gatherings and casual dining. Everything felt very clean, comfortable, and inviting.

Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves Indian and Nepalese cuisine. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

A great place with great taste! Most of the restaurants fail to prepare the Gobi Manchurian the way I ask but this one did it! Not much, I just ask for the dry Manchurian so that it won’t become soggy and looks like curry. The waiter listened and prepared it dry and crunchy. He was a great convo starter asking about our preferences and checking on us about the taste. Even the Chana Masala was good.

The food was proper Indian style and incredibly tasty.
We were a group of 5 friends and we ordered a lot of food as we were very hungry. The service was swift and cordial.
We also ordered gulab jamun and rice pudding for desserts. No where in California I have eaten proper authentic North India desserts like this.
10/10 Recommend.

I purchase food last night butter chicken curry lamb. And a goat Curry that is for my lunch today honestly the chicken and the lamb was ok I had that for dinner last night.however at 2 pm today I tried having the goat Curry for my lunch I was super disappointed the mead was so tough and under cook there was still blood inside I could not eat it I had to dump it in the garbage which left me without lunch. I call the store and made a complaint they told me they can refund or replace because I ordered through doordash. They dold me to call doordash which I did and doordash also told me to call the store because it wasn’t a damaged or undelivered or wrong item. So no one wants to take responsibility for my 100 dollars that is spent if this is how you guys treat customers I would tell all customers to avoid this store.i also told them that I did a video of the food and ican send it but they told me I doesn’t make a difference. So I think in a few days I will just upload it here it someone dont correct this issue.
