I’m really disappointed with my recent order from India Palace. The food quality was far below expectations. The chicken tasted old and soft – not at all like fresh tandoori. You can even see from the photos that the texture looks off and not properly cooked.
The “biryani” they sent wasn’t biryani at all. It looked like plain rice sautéed with chili powder and salt, with no authentic flavor or aroma. There was no layering, spices, or richness that you’d expect from a real biryani.
Overall, the food felt rushed, stale, and nowhere close to authentic Indian cuisine. For the prices they charge, the quality and taste were really disappointing. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and improves both freshness and preparation – customers deserve better.

The food is so good, the portions are generous, and the restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere that really captures East Indian culture. It is authentic. It is family-owned and the owner and his sons are very friendly and gracious. I eat here all the time!

We followed the most delicious smell all the way down Congress and stopped at 3 different restaurants until we finally found where it was coming from – India Palace. I am so glad we followed our noses, the shrimp curry may just be the most delicious curry I’ve ever tasted. What made the experience even better was the owner who was our waiter and has the kindest heart. 10/10 no notes – absolutely recommend!!!

I have been coming here for over 15+ years. Outstanding place to eat! Dishes are fantastic flavorful and plentiful! Their Lamb Badam Pasanda is just perfect! Very peaceful environment with wonderful service. Very friendly people! 5 of 5 stars! Will always come back!

Very first time trying indian and i’m so glad this was the spot we chose. The food was beyond amazing as well as the service. was very quiet when we were there but beautiful atmosphere. We got the butter lamb as well as chicken tiki masala. For the appetizer we had somosas and not a single thing disappointed. Would recommend too anyone thinking of coming.

This beautiful establishment had the finest service I have ever received. As soon as my party walked through the door we were taken care of by the most charming staff in all of Portland. And don’t get me started on the FOOD. The butter chicken was to die for I’d eat it at my own wedding id marry the chicken if I could.

We were headed to a nearby Thai place when we stumbled onto this gem of a restaurant. India Palace served up beautiful authentic flavors and with exceptional service. My fiance and I stopped in for dinner with no wait and we’re instantly seated. We ended up having to wait over an hour for our food to come out at which point we had to leave before even tasting it. We took it to go and we’ll try it at home but it is unlikely that we returning to this restaurant except for takeout at best. Needless to say we are disappointed.
