This is a beautiful restaurant with great atmosphere and unique Vietnamese dishes that are delicious and a culinary adventure. From fresh and light to rich tender slow cooked beef and pork there is truly something for everyone on the menu. The papaya salad is a great starter to kick things off. You have to try one or more of the spring roles with unique ingredients and perfect sauces. The main dishes include seafood and meat choices as well as amazing banh mi varieties. The food is very big on bold flavors and combinations are familiar but they do a unique take on it. The service was both attentive and informative. Overall this is one of the nicest restaurants in the area and the food is great. The vibe inside is very nice and upscale but you still feel the beach and can come business or casual as long as you want an outstanding dining experience.. Little Sister is a can’t miss in Riviera Village.

The food and ambiance were excellent, but the best thing about this restaurant was our server, Michael. He was very friendly and professional and he was the hardest working person I’ve seen in a long time. Michael was our server, the bartender and seemed to be keeping everything at the restaurant in order. He didn’t stop moving the entire time we were there. It’s very rare now to see someone working hard, much less going above and beyond and Michael did that. I would highly recommend Little Sister for the food but specifically the Redondo Beach location for the fantastic service.

Really well prepared and presented, from the spring rolls to curry. Pops of fresh flavors, lemongrass, citrus, fish sauce. The bar has lovely cocktails; balanced and complimentary. The shaking beef was not just delicious but was cooked expertly too, just a wonderful bite.
Lime blueberry coconut tart was an excellent finish to a great meal.

Second time there, the food is really good, the restaurant is nice. First time we went service was great, last night our attedant last night brought the entry with the main dishes and i had to go to the bar to ask for my tab because she forgot us. Besides that, i liked it.

This place was so yummy, our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and was able to suggest stuff based on what we were looking for!! They gave us a warm wipe to wipe our hands when we first sat down, which I’d never seen anywhere else.

food was amazing, top tier, go there during happy hour – it’s literally half the price. it was a little cold because the door was open, but not too cold enough to say something. loved the whole aesthetic & vibes.

Behind Little Sister restaurant, there was a very inspiring story about its founder- Chef Tin. He single handily created the fusion Vietnamese restaurant chains and started Southeast Asian culinary trend in greater LA.

Chef Tin’s food as he described in an interview, is about family. He created dishes that resembling what he used to eat at home with family.

After seeing so many good reviews from some of the most prominent Yelpers, I decided to drive to Redondo beach to try out their food.

Coming from the SGV where there are so many outstanding Vietnamese restaurants, I had high expectations as Chef Tin was also from the SGV. I expected the food would be miles better than what I used to here in our neighborhood.

The first impression when we entered the restaurant was good. The decoration brought its patrons back to the colonial era with heavy French influences. Love the vibes with the big French windows and the long bars associated with a typical colonial restaurant in Vietnam.

However, the food felt far short of my expectation. Despite its claim to be an improvement from SGV Vietnamese food, the fusion version offered here totally messed up the original Vietnamese flavor which should be aromatic and light. The food here, in order to cater to American taste, is very heavily seasoned and not much of the aroma typically emanates from the herbs. With the price 2 times more than the SGV restaurants, I expected a better Vietnamese food experiences.

But I have to say the Banh Xeo was very good. I liked the crispy skins and the mixed of the veggies and prawns. I think mungbean was missing from the ingredients of this dish.

I hope they have better foods in their other restaurants. Maybe the foods in their downtown LA one have better taste. We will try that locate next time.

i really liked the food, I’ve been a regular over the past 5 years, but I had an instance where I saw a roach crawling near my feet and had to stomp it. the two guests next to me were grossed out, boxed their food and left. I got free drinks as a compliment for sticking around. another time when i ordered take out, i found a sheered metal bolt in my shaky beef…it was from the wok pan handle. they discounted my meal but that was the last straw for me

Little Sister is a Vietnamese restaurant that serves food for decadents! Though I will first say the suon nuong (Lemongrass grilled pork chop and chicken fat rice) does take some time to be served (about 40 minutes) but it was definitely worth while, and possibly the best pork chop I have eaten in a long time, I would just add that the customers should be warned about this wait time prior to being served the dish. The pork chop was tender, sweet, lean, with a slight herb and smoke taste from the grill and rub, it was juicy and absolutely delicious and the chicken fat rice has a subtly sweet and buttery flavor. The Banh Mi had delicious huge pieces of crispy pork belly, a unique fried egg soft boiled egg, paired with what I think is jasmine rice. Overall, even though the wait time could be addressed the food I had at Little Sisters was absolutely amazing, I will try their noodles the next time I go, but it is about whether or not your patient enough to wait for good food (Only for some dishes though).
