Hello, my name is Moises Cortes I have had the pleasure of cooking professionally in Columbia, Missouri for over 20 years! I have family and friends across Columbia. I am a happily married father to a Mizzou Tiger and 2 boys in the CPS school System and a newborn in 2024 I have worked at Hoss’s Market, Bleu, Sake, the healthcare industry and for the last 15 years, I Directed several Fine Dining Retirement Communities Kitchens and catering events. I love this restaurant! Such a great place to study and to get lunch before class. We had El Moe’s catered for an on-campus event last semester at Mizzou and it was DELICIOUS! Everyone enjoyed the food. Would highly recommend! ❤️

Moe, are you single? Not only is it every time I go here the food is stunning, but today I had the privilege of enjoying the best lamb curry I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating, the cucumber sauce was stellar, the pita was soft and warm, and the lamb was equally as tender. Finally good food is being brought onto this campus for students, not just faculty.

El Moe’s is one of my favorite places to go for lunch or dinner on campus. When I want to hang out with friends over food, I recommend we get a table here over anywhere else on campus. I almost always get their cheeseburger because it has a nice savory flavor and is very juicy! Grabbing coffee before heading to class or a meeting is always fast and convenient. Now that I’m off the MU dining plan, the only food I ever want to get on campus is El Moe’s.

They never answer phone calls and even when they said they coukd answer the phone at a certain time they didn’t pick up the phone on thw time they said they could. They brdak promises. They say that they are too busy. Well of you are so busy, get more staff. My catering order would have made them over $120 dollars. Do they not want money? I posted a review a few months ago mentioning these things and the daughter replied to my honest and fairto defend her father, Moises, who is the owner and of course she defended him and was very boased because she’s his daughter and in her view her father can’t do anything wrong but I mean he honestly was kind of harsh and a little rude over the phone even though I was about to make a major order. Obviously she’s not a neutral person to be able to make shots on that and she attacked me in my review. The day my order was supposed to arrive Moises had a car accident on his birthday which I understand that was completely outside of his control and I’m sorry for him for that but I mean that had nothing to do with the fact that they weren’t answering phone calls weeks before that and his daughter tried to use the car accident inbad faith and gaslighting arguments to try to make my honest review look bad like I’m the bad person when the car accident had nothing to do with my original review. I don’t blame Moises for his car accident which caused me not to have my catered food arrive on time as it’s not his fault but I do blame them for not answering their phone calls even whenever they promise to at a certain time. Their excuse is that they’re too busy even whenever I planned over a day in advance for a phone call. And Moises was a little rude over the phone weeks before the accident when I made the order. I’m not saying he’s a terrible person or anything but he should definitely more be more appreciative of potential customers who have large orders. I mean shouldn’t you prioritize people who have large orders paying you a lot of money over customers who are there at the store physically a little bit given that I mean a catered order brings a lot more money in for the company. If you guys are too busy just hire more people. Clearlt you are popular and making the money.

Everything about this place is incredible. I’ve gone every day once I heard that they offered Mizzou dining plan. It’s the best place on campus.
Every special and regular menu item I’ve has tasted absolutely incredible, and so do their pastries. They have food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I love the service, music, and paintings around the place, too.
