I received a post that Fortune China is under new management, which was good because the previous manangement was not to my liking. We’ve been looking for a good eat-in. So, I gave it a try. It did not disappoint at all.

When we walked in the door, we immediately noticed the cleanliness. The lighting is perfect for dining. The decor is crisp, glasses shining…So we dined in.

I’ve now been a couple times with 2 different friends. We were all very happy with the dining experience. The food was excellent: the soups, the shrimp toast appetizer was a really decent portion and quite delicious; actually everything was consistently delicious.

The service is attentive and easy to update needs even when they just left the table. Sorry. I loved the chicken and broccoli (just ask for the broccoli to be cooked softer if you prefer softer broccoli; the Schezuan rice noodles were delicious with a hint of sweetness. The shrimp egg foo/fu young had big shrimp and was very tasty….Definitely going back this week for the shrimp toast and to try something new…
I also love they are smart to leave a pitcher of water for the table…

Please consider offering options/alternatives to rice. As a frequent patron, Im getting all riced out. I have spoken several times to the gentleman about offering substitutes, other noodles, ie., the rice vermicelli noodles…But, his dismissive, rigid attitude makes it impossible for him to even consider perhaps passing it on to whoever could make it happen. His only reply was thats not our policy, and I would have to purchase the entire Singapore meal if I wanted the noodles. That seems to me unreasonable, when a simple $1-2 upcharge would suffice, like every other restaurant in the world, who caters to their customer and not a rigid policy.
Unfortunately, too bad, I haven’t been back since. When the policy changes and allows us options, please reply to this review. We will be happy to resume making Fortune China an almost daily choice again, without being forced to have rice to keep it a reasonably priced choice.

Fortune China Restaurant exceeded every expectation. The salt pepper pork chop, ginger steamed fish, and roast duck dishes were all absolutely incredible, perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. The service was the best I’ve ever experienced: warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The atmosphere and flavors feel so authentic that it’s like being transported to China. Everything was incredibly delicious, and I believe this restaurant deserves Michelin recognition. A true gem worth visiting again and again.

From the moment we walked in through the beautiful Koi fish glass doors and dining rooms, we knew that we were in for something more special than other Chinese restaurants.

The ambiance has the perfect balance of cozy and elegant, with classic chairs and booths, tasteful décor, and a welcoming and highly professional staff.

The service was impeccable, attentive, sincerely friendly and made us feel like valued guests throughout the entire evening.

Every dish we ordered could be on the cover of a gourmet magazine with the quality and presentation and the prices are very reasonable. The shrimp had abundant and large shrimp cooked to perfection, the beef dish was tender and plentiful, all delicately seasoned to taste the fresh produce and flavors of seafood and beef.

What truly sets Fortune China apart is the new Chef Hua and his wife Jenny, who for 20 years had their restaurant, Hunan Garden in Eldersburg with 4.8 consistent stars. She is known as the Mayor because of her loving care of the community and for their patrons. And he is known for only using fresh and high quality ingredients, his passion for cooking and ensuring that their guests fully enjoy their meals. In addition, their professionalism and cleanliness of the entire restaurant makes them even more superior to other Chinese restaurants.

Our party of 7 enjoyed an extraordinary dining experience and we highly recommend as your go to restaurant that you return to again and again!

We discovered that this restaurant was under new management so decided to give it a try. My wife had Salt and Pepper Shrimp, my son had morengo delight, and my dish was chicken chow fun. These were new dishes for us and we really enjoyed our choices. I particularly liked the Chow fun. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly. We will definitely return!

New management with new recipes for some dishes but all very delicious. Lunch sized dishes are huge and could easily feed 3 hungry people. Mu Hoo pork and pork fried rice had plentiful pork and were fresh as could be. Egg rolls were hot without being greasy. Will be back.
Just tried the Kung pao chicken and it is the best version I have had yet.

This restaurant seems to have come under new ownership as the menu offerings have changed, and so have the staff. I ordered the fish fillet with ginger scallion sauce (sauce on the side) and was pleasantly surprised by how flakey and lightly breaded the fish was— it also wasn’t overly oily! Glad I stopped in for dinner, and will likely be back again.

Our 1st time eating here Christmas night. Ordered roast pork lo mein. Wife and I agreed the lo mein lacked the flavor we normally expect from this dish. Could just be how they prepare it. Portions were big. Egg rolls were flavorful. Very friendly staff.
