An outstanding dining experience. You can genuinely taste the chef’s passion in every dish – the food is refined, high-end, and absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself is beautifully styled, elegant without feeling pretentious, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Staff was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even more enjoyable. My third visit here and first since they started offering a la carte instead of degustation only. Third visit tells it all, very much enjoyed the pescetarian orientated food scene here.
If you have never been here and are planning to, expect a symphony of fermentation, fresh serving, chargrilled, ageing and pickled of local seasonal ingredients.
Honestly the most underrated and undervisited fine dining restaurant in Hobart. Will not comment on dishes directly as menu changes based on ingredients availability but I could say that there hasn’t been a disappointing dish.

What a phenomenal menu! Pescetarian that doesn’t feel like a compromise, and full of flavour. The tomato with Koji butter was absolutely outstanding. Service was without fault, and it was a very warm and comfortable atmosphere. 13 courses, all small, but left feeling so very satisfied. Can highly recommend!

What an amazing food experience. Definitely showcasing Tassie’s amazing seafood and fresh produce, with I can’t remember how many small plates as there was many. Each course is like a work of art, incredible flavours and brilliant service. We had matching wines which, were beautifully explained and paired perfectly with each dish. Put Sylvie’s on your list of must places to dine in Hobart.

Excellent meal. Really interesting food, with freshest ingredients. Interesting seafood. Vegetables were amazing . No meat, but no issue there. We had the chef’s menu and this quantity was perfect.
Wine list was eccentric, but the two wines we had were good.

We spent a very enjoyable 3 hours there.I am not experienced at fine dining but it was great.
The staff are really friendly and made an effort to explain each dish to us.
It really was a taste adventure as the meal is multiple small servings which allowed lots of time for conversation and when each dish arrived it was like an event.
Everything was fresh.
It was a great taste experience.
The food was beautifully presented.
I am still telling people about it days later as it made such a nice impression on me.

It was very quiet for a Saturday night not too much atmosphere apart from the people having fun next to us.
Every dish was very tasty but seemed to have something missing or wrong. Food was fresh, the kitchen didn’t seem very busy so gave the feeling everything was prepped and warmed up. It was our waitresses first night which is great to see, but not much effort was put in to even know their menu items. It was our wedding anniversary and mentioned it in the booking but not even a congratulations from the staff.

My partner booked here for my birthday. A pescatarian menu with wine pairing. I was quite excited. We received two confirmation emails saying that they were looking forward to seeing us on the confirmed date. We arrived at 7pm on the confirmed date to a locked door. We walked all around the building, looking for another entrance and called the phone number only to be put on endless hold. Worst birthday ever!
