I’m disappointed at the service I received this evening for food pick up.

We chose cafe colma because they are local, Filipino run, and hours are listed as 24/7. placed an order because my spouse said he could go pick it up and was headed out the door.

But, since he worked in the hospital and had an emergency come up he got held back for an hour and a half and where they called me twice and I picked up the phone both time. I told them the best estimates for when my spouse could arrive based on my best knowledge.

On the second call, the rude worker rushed me to get there. I need to pick it up, she said, because it’s been more than the 15 minutes she quoted me on the phone.

I asked her what the problem was, and tried to allow her to make it customer focused by asking if the issue that it’s getting cold and they’re worried about not getting paid, or that they are somehow closing earlier, and she insisted it’s none of those but that the issue is that she told me it’s been more than the 15 minutes I was quoted it would take for the food and that I said my spouse was on the way for it.

I have never had any issues calling into a restaurant for an order and picking it up -DURING their open hours- even if it’s later than when they said the food was going to be done cooking.

I was fine with the food getting cold at our expense because there was no workaround to work holding him back but this.. This is just weird and rude behavior that does not suit the needs of medical professionals or late night workers that may have to respond to emergencies.

I encourage people in these professions to look elsewhere and let this restaurant serve their casino crowd who are already in their premises instead.

I’ve eaten at the location and just like most restaurants by casinos, it smells like nicotine and tobacco and is a simple diner. The last time I went they undercooked the lumpia despite a dark friend outer shell (showing that it’s cooked from frozen) but I wouldn’t have any issues coming back if they weren’t so rude.

Also during pick up they were still rude to my spouse, who was nice to them by asking what the issue with the order. They knew just got off a longer shift. It’s a $90 to-go order for a burger, karekare, silog, and bilobilo. Closer eateries would have been better value. We normally still tip well, but this is just unacceptable. I would never come back here.

The Kare Kare sauce was good. I wish the oxtail was more tender, same with the pork sinigang. The beef caldereta wws very good tho. The service is good.

Solid spot for late night eats post club when we were in our 20s. Lots of people come here before or after the airport since they’re 24 hours. They have American, Filipino, and Chinese food. I love getting their silogs – meat, sunny side up egg, garlic fried. I like their tocino and bangus. They’re known for their kare kare and spaghetti. Their bangus Sisig is good and one time we just asked for Sabaw. The staff are super friendly and for birthdays we got a cheesecake! They have halo halo here too. Located at the lucky chances casino across from the cemetery. There’s a parking garage as well as parking lot outside and surrounding.

Let’s face it. Most of the patrons are customers at the casino. But there are a few folks that come to Lucky Chances for the food. I’m one of them.

As a customer of Cafe Colma for about 20 years, I keep coming back because I really enjoy the food and atmosphere. The variety on the menu its pretty good, but I usually have the same food. Filipino breakfast.

The ladies that work here are always so nice. They feel like they are your aunties. The cooks are consistent, food quality food for a fair price.

Cafe Colma used to be an affordable option when taking the family out for something different. No longer cheap. Expect to pay about $25 per person for dinner, beverage, and tip.

It gets crowded, so plan to wait for your table. But it’s worth the wait.

Since there was no choice but to go to the cemetery across the street, we came here for lunch.

The menu includes Filipino, Chinese, and American dishes.

My dad ordered the American waffle combo $18 the waffle was dry, I ordered the special of the day roast pork, it’s ok $19.90, and we also ordered HK style noodle, which was really bad, the noodles were old and not crispy, and the soup only had 4 shrimps and greens and mushrooms $21.

Service is nice .

Saturday lunchtime full house, omg . I think maybe most of people like us , no we here can go because we don’t want to drive far .

Someone recommended the Goto here, and since we were in the area, we had to give it a try.

My husband and I arrived around 9 PM on a Monday night, and I was surprised by how busy it was for such a late hour. Luckily, we only waited a couple of minutes before being seated, and we were given menus right away.

We weren’t super hungry—just curious to try their Goto (beef tripe rice soup)—so we ordered that along with Lechon Kawali (crispy fried pork belly) on the side. I was hoping they had Tokwa’t Baboy to pair with the Goto, but the Lechon Kawali would have to do. Their menu is quite extensive, but we kept it simple.

Our food arrived after about 15 minutes. Despite how busy it was, our server was very kind and attentive throughout. The Goto was solid—the tripe was impressively tender and made the dish. The Lechon Kawali, however, was a bit underwhelming compared to versions we’ve had at other Filipino spots in our area. It also felt a little pricey, hmmm maybe pork is more expensive in Colma?

Food is great. Usually get seated right away. The egg white fried rice is amazing but is WAY overpriced for rice and egg white. Definitely need to check/lower the price on this item. Shouldn’t be that much.

Tucked inside Lucky Chances Casino, this spot offers traditional Filipino cuisine. I remember it as a go-to stop after a fun night out. I’ve also been here for breakfast, and it’s always delicious with great value for your money.

Though I don’t gamble and live like 40-45mins away from this place, we tend to drive up to lucky chances from time to time to get tapsilog, they do have a variety of tapsilog combinations and not to mention large portions too. I love how they serve you the whole fried bangus with the head and tail still attached , The bangus sisig is also good. We usually try and take it to go since this place gets packed at times, but end up eating it there and somehow finding a table for our group. The servers are not the best at times. They could come out rude at times when it’s busy and tend to forget about your table after the food is served you often have to flag them for water refills or for napkins and when one or two of your orders are still missing. Other than that, it’s always good food and a decent spot to get some good Filipino eats.

Long story short, we walked-in the restaurant undecided whether to order for take-out or dine-in but since the cashier was in a bit of a rush I ended up ordering my two items for take out (Halo-halo and Tocilog). A minute or two after I had already paid for my order, we changed our minds and ask to be seated .. my bad! I then asked for the halo-halo to be served at the table instead. Anyways, the cashier said it was okay and sat us down in a booth. We were unsure but for what it looked like, it was a change of shift. A couple servers passed right by us with NO eye contact. We probably waited close to about 30 minutes by the time someone actually took my friends’ order. Now, let’s go back to my “take out” order, you’d think it would be ready after all we’ve been sitting down with our glasses of water for the past 30 mins which took maybe another 20 mins for my friend’s order to arrive = 50 mins and still NOTHING. Where does the confusion lie?! There I was thinking the cashier understood the assignment but apparently not! 😛

Come to find out, they were hesitant to provide service because I ordered for “take-out” and that they will not be able to add a “table” service charge since it was already paid for. It was never our intention to cheat them out on an extra $5-$7 tip, if that was the case. We had such a great laugh out of the situation so friend left a 35% tip!

Also, given that it’s located inside Lucky Chances, always expect to drive around a couple of times for parking and walk through clouds of smoke! Halo-halo was pretty good and the same goes for the Tocilog ºoº
