I ask the locals to see what is good out here in Martinez, I was referred here by a kind gentleman.
Shrimp Spring roll:
I ordered this for my appetizer, a common appetizer that most people would enjoy. The peanut butter dip for this dish was delicious. It was made fresh and was still steaming. It was perfect balance of sweet and salty from the peanut butter and soy sauce. There were bits of chopped peanuts for texture.
Shrimp Pho with Chicken broth and Egg Noodles:
I chose this for my main dish for nice cool weather like today. The broth was pleasant and very flavorful, good amount of saltines and chicken flavor. The flavor mixed well with the shrimp, vegetable and the chicken broth. There is no shortage of shrimp in this dish. Though my noodles did turn soggy by the end of my meal it was still acceptable.
Service:
Food came in a timely manner and the server was friendly. I did not feel rushed or was there a need to request for water. For the most part I try to order a drink and water when in restaurant so that I do not have to request for a refill. I did not feel bothered at all. Though she did not return to ask how things were. I did not mind at all, but should make it a standard to see how your guest is doing.
Atmosphere:
It was pretty cold inside. Maybe due to the door being kept open, as soon as my food arrived I did not feel cold anymore but definitely when entering and during the waiting period it was a bit chilly.
Pretty positive experience over all.

Excellent food and very kind service. Moved back to Martinez recently after a decade away and my wife and I are very excited to have a great Vietnamese spot right in town owned and operated by local Martinez people. It’s going to be a regular spot for us for sure! Prices were great too, very fair for the volume and quality of food

you walk in and are greeted by very friendly people and the atmosphere is immediately homey. i like to gauge a viet restaurant by their pho of course and ordered the pho with rare steak, my usual order at any pho place. they come out with hoisin and sriracha and a plate of the usual herbs, bean sprouts, jalapeno and lime to doctor it as you desire. it came out in an elegant dish ware that was rather large. visually it was stunning but that first bite was absolutely incredible. i immediately knew it was the best pho i’ve ever tasted. the depth of the broth was incredible and the meat was the most tender beef i’ve ever had in pho. i didn’t feel the need to add anything to the bowl which i feel speaks for itself about how amazing it was. i am already feeling like going back and i went yesterday. i am so happy to have such a delicious restaurant within walking distance to my house and my partner and i were both over the moon to have such a great place in martinez we can go to for some high quality food. i cant wait to try other menu items. the shrimp spring rolls were also a 10/10

Just picked up a Tofu Bahn Mi + Vietnamese Coffee for under $20 & they were both delicious! The sandwich was fresh, the coffee was actually made with condensed milk & I now have a new favorite lunch spot in downtown Martinez!
The staff is so friendly, the space was clean & the food was delicious. They had a beautiful altar as well!
Add this restaurant to your list, you won’t be disappointed!

I’ve been there 4 times since they opened (which was only 2 weeks ago). My personal favorite is the Pho Ga (Chicken Breast Noodle Soup). It is delicious! The service is good and the new owners and staff provide a friendly atmosphere.
If you were a Lemongrass regular, which I was, Kim Phong Bistro has some of the Lemongrass favorites on their menu.
I recommend giving Kim Phong Bistro a try!

Great sandwiches, rice noodles, and Vietnamese soup (pho). They also have really good Thai dishes from the previous restaurant which we loved (lemongrass). I encourage everyone to try the Vietnamese food if you haven’t had it. Delicious.

Fantastic meal! Some of the highest quality food in downtown Martinez, if you’re a fan of any Vietnamese food you HAVE to give it a shot. No more driving out of town to Walnut Creek for Pho (:
