Food here is amazing. We ordered 4 or 5 different sushi rolls with some appetizers. Everything tasted fresh and was prepared swiftly. Recommend to anyone in the area who wants a nice dinner. However I would suggest getting a reservation in advance.

My favorite sushi spot of all time! Saturday nights are for Hinoki—the vibe, ambience, and service are always on point. Every single dish on the menu is delicious, and we find ourselves looking forward to the next visit the moment we leave. Some of my must-haves are the yellowtail jalapeño, chicken potstickers, fire ball roll, miso cod, and king salmon sushi. Truly unbeatable!

We came to Hinoki for the first time for dinner over the weekend and absolutely loved it.
Everything we ordered was delicious, from sushi tacos to other tasty bites.
The fish was fresh and very high quality. Melt-in-your-mouth smooth!
The 4 sushi tacos we tried:
* Hokkaido uni caviar – more expensive because they had uni from Hokkaido, but it was so delicious!
* Salmon ikura – so smooth
* Shiso squid – good, but I don’t love mayo
* Yellowtail avocado yuzu sauce – very refreshing, like a summer dessert
Other sushi and vegetables:
* Toro scallion roll – not much scallion, but the toro was very plentiful and of high quality
* Crispy cauliflower tempura – I’m not a cauliflower lover, but loved this dish!
* Shishito peppers – good, healthy appetizer option
We dined outside because it was so nice out, but inside seating had a modern, upscale vibe, perfect for cooler days.
Highly recommend this Asian restaurant, if you’re in Greenwich.

First time at Hinoki was so good! We really enjoyed the speciality cocktails, king crab nori tacos, crispy rice tuna, wagyu, & rolls! Cocktails were incredible — if you like gin (like me) I highly recommend ‘The Last Word’ and ‘Over Stimulated’ — ‘Greenwich Paloma’ was also great and the ‘Open Sesame’. Wish I could remember our waiter, Sebastian, he was great — highly educated on the menu / cocktails. Was a birthday treat so they had complimentary fried ice cream — was cute they came round with a Polaroid camera and took a photo that we could take home as well. I will be back, Hinoki!!! Xo

It’s a solid sushi place and other Japanese favorites. The biggest minus is that it’s definitely overpriced for the fare. All in all, most of the dishes were good to very good. I would say this place is scene over food.

COOL VIBES AT THIS UPSCALE ASIAN FUSION RESTAURANT AND COCKTAIL BAR – I was blown away by the delicious food and attentive service. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and has a cozy, inviting atmosphere. I would urge you to start with one of their craft cocktails while you peruse the menu! FOOD – The menu has a wide variety of dishes to choose from, and everything I tried was absolutely delicious. We had the soup dumplings, lettuce wraps, blackened cod, and rib eye steak, which was plenty for 3 people. SERVICE – The service was top-notch. Our waitress (SO to Melissa!) was very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to make great recommendations based on our preferences. She was also very attentive, refilling our drinks and checking on us regularly to make sure we were enjoying our meal. AMBIANCE – just a really cool upscale vibe, intimate and perfect for a first date perhaps if you’re looking to impress!! DRINKS – we just loved the cocktails, from the ‘Pornstar, to the excellent ‘Cosmo’s’ as well as the bespoke tequila/vodka cucumber concoction I was offered! SUMMARY Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Hinoki Asian restaurant and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious Asian cuisine in Greenwich CT.

While visiting Greenwich we stumble this great restaurant with outdoor seating on a sunny day. Great service and really good dishes. As a vegan there are some dishes and all of them very tasty. Always ask the waiter because there are vegan dishes that are not in the menu. A must place to dine in.

I’ve been to Hinoki in Greenwich now on three separate occasions – each time a great meal. Last night was no exception. We walked in on Sunday night with no reservation and while they were busy, they had no trouble seating us right away. It’s a nice dimly lit ambiance with a cedar smell throughout.
We started off with miso soup and wanted to try something different so we went with the Asian Pear Salmon. While the miso soup was great, the Asian Pear Salmon had an overpowering onion flavor and was a bit disappointing, but the salmon was nice and fresh.
Next we had a couple of the Nori tacos – Wagyu Salt and Toro. These were both excellent and I would recommend getting them.
Next up we had 5 pieces of nigiri each. Tuna, Uni, some other pieces. They were all great, but I would say I’ve had better. The rice was inconsistent. The last piece that came out separately was perfect, and the rice was nice and warm. The others didn’t seem to match the same quality for some reason, but were still 8/10. Also I would not I’m not a fan of gold leaf on food in general, but especially in sushi. But I credit them for the effort.
We were still hungry, so instead of dessert we opted for the soup dumplings which were great.
For drinks, I had a wonderful glass of red burgundy from Beaune, and my wife had a mezcal cocktail she was still raving about the next day.
Overall, this is a nice romantic restaurant for date night, or to take a group out for an impressive sushi dinner. It’s more casual than a limited seat Omakase experience, so set your expectations. You’ll be in for great food and ambiance, with pretty good service, but not out of this world.
