Very disappointed in various things. For starters, the cantaloupe water was way over sweetened. The handmade tortillas looked delicious, once we took a bite. They taste sour, mentioned it to the waitress and she said okay. I’ll bring you some other kind so they brought us store-bought tortillas instead. Why are they selling bad tortillas? They should know if their dough is bad and not serve it to the public. We then ordered the menudo which tastes like it was from a can, horrible. Needless to say, we will not return to this place.

Excellent place to eat authentic home-made Mexican food. Traditional guisos and hand made tortillas as well as fresh salsa de molcajete.

Breakfast is just like home made. From huevos rancheros to nopales con carne and hand made corn tortillas. The only negative is that they only have instant coffee which you have to get up and make yourself, which I still don’t mind BUT all they have is Styrofoam cups :(. The food is however, the BEST compared to ALL other Mexican restaurants. There’s usually just one waitress and the female cook/owner. That’ll tell you it’s just like being cooked a meal at home with great taste.

Food looked authentic but wasn’t that great to be honest…the meat was too fatty and the beans were not refried beans..this place is not very accommodating to English speakers as well so make sure you come with a Spanish speaking friend or else you might not be able to order. The restaurant itself is an old times diner/bar with a cool nostalgic feel to it, the only downsides were that it’s a little too dark in there not very well lit and also the vibe I got from the patrons kinda threw me off… not very pleasant to be stared down by 5 people while you wait for your food to be ready…

If you enjoy culture, this is the place to be. They have televisions perfect for watching European or Continental soccer games, I love that. Food is excellent, I recommend the ribs. The workers are kinds and friendly, cant beat the price for value.

The food is what you expect if you were in Ocotlán and someone opened their kitchen to everyone to share their family dinner. Very delicious, remember Mexican food is regional in flavor and preparation, this is Ocotlán version. The menu is probably 15 choices including breakfast, soups and dinners, but what they have is prepared with love. Handmade tortillas if you’re wondering. It has a large diner style counter with room for 20+ due to it caters to lots of single working men and that’s why their prices are very low, but during the week it’s not that busy. On the weekends it’s packed with families, even at the large counter sitting side by side. The service is awkward at best, but only for their attention, once you have it you’re taken care of. Seat yourself, they’re busy. It’s a hole in the wall, so just deal with it.

Was happy with taste of menudo but very disappointed with how it was measured. Bought 2 large in my own container and got almost all broth. Saw a gentlemen eating there and bowl was heaping with menudo and hominy. Next time I say to eat there and pack it to go myself. If there is a next time. Didn’t want to drive back and complain. Inspect before leaving.

I loved the authenticity of the Mexican food is great but service is bad every time I go there I tell my self to be patient because it takes from 30 minutes to an hour to get your food and not because they are busy don’t know why
