Worst Mexican ever! Took on hour for our food and the price poncho villa plat ordered was supposed to come with chicken mole, I got one piece chicken and a spoon of sauce. I asked for hot sauce I got brought Tabasco…wrf? And my play came with one, count em one tortilla…. I won’t be back!

Chips were cold, stale and unsalted. Rice was uneatable, tasted like it was cooked in three day old dishwater! Enchiladas were decent. Tea was some of the most watered down stuff I’ve ever had. 100% would not recommend this place to anyone! Service wasn’t great. After we ordered we got the food fairly promptly, but no one came to take our order for 15 minutes after we came in. Overall a letdown to say the least

This was my first time eating there. They serve mostly Mexican food. They didn’t have a large variety of menu items. It seemed a lot of the menu items were served smothered in pork green chili, which I don’t care for. Maybe what they are known for or a local favorite? I’m not sure. The food was okay, nothing special. The service was fast and friendly. Would maybe recommend if you want a quick meal.

My food was good no complaint. My husband’s on the other hand was the smallest meal I have ever seen for $15. I ended up giving him half of mine so he wouldn’t leave hungry. We were told our bill was $35. The ticket we signed was for $35 but they took out a few dollars more than that. Definitely will not be back.

Food here is really good. I especially recommend the “Catfish” (which has no fish in it at all; it’s a large burrito).
That said, I knocked them down one star for a few issues that you should be aware of if you’ve never eaten here: You only get one refill on chips and one refill on soft drinks (unless you pay an additional charge). There is an added charge if you use a credit card to pay. Also, they are NEVER open. They open Thursday, Friday and Saturday only and they close early (by 9:00 pm).
But, if you can catch them when they are open and don’t mind the limited refills, they have great food and usually pretty good service, as well.

“Best Mexican food in the country” Such a bold claim. Wonder what country they were referring to. Maybe their experience with the country doesn’t extend past the city limits of Great Bend.

Right away the salsa for the appetizer chips was Paste Picante type of salsa and it was cold. Not authentic at all. And what Mexican restaurant doesn’t have Fajitas? The whole menu itself was plain. Not much to choose from. And when we finally ordered the food was terrible. both myself and my colleague could not finish.About the only good thing I will say is the staff was very friendly.

If you want authentic Mexican food then avoid this place. Find somewhere else. Even a Taco Bell would be more authentic than this place.

We ordered carryout after looking over their menu on their website. According to the prices on there our food should’ve been $54.75 plus tax, however my husband picked up our food so he had no idea what was ordered, nor the price. After he got home and I seen the receipt for $ 81.73 I nearly flipped as I knew that was not the price, I had just looked at on their website menu. At this point I called the restaurant back and spoke to what sounded to be a young girl, we went over my order and the prices she was giving me were $2~$3 higher per meal that what website said. She said yeah our prices went up. I asked to speak to her manager, a gentleman by the name of Troy spoke with me (which I believe is the owner) he argued with me about EVERYTHING I had concerns about, even interrupting me as I was still trying to express my concerns over what I paid, and what his website showed. He argued with me stating they didn’t even have a website, then changing it to “well with covid we just haven’t had time to change it” to “I’m not a computer person” to “we need to make money”. During all this he said “I’m trying to work, I said it’s 8:40 you are closed. I asked him if he was the owner~never did answer that question!

I even had to pay a $3.50 carry out charge, and a $3.12 credit card fee as they refused accepting a check. Never will I go this restaurant again!

Updating my review from 2009. This is a must stop for anyone coming to town not from this area.
Excellent food and friendly staff. One of our favorite places to eat Mexican food. The bar and cantina was definately a much needed touch and a wonderful addition.
Would definately recommend.
You wont be disappointed

If you put ketchup on steak then you will love this place. However, if you don’t want to eat food that taste like it came from a school lunch, try one of the other Mexican restaurants in town. Service was terrific though, but good service doesn’t make up for bad food.

Good service, consistent flavor and quality. The guacamole is one of the best around. Great value on the menu. They are only open a few days a week, so they get busy when they are open!
