This my 2nd time here but my first review here! I simply love thos place! It’s, sexy, intimate and a vibe! Taylor was my bartender and she was absolutely the best! It’s so warm and welcoming here! I can’t wait to experience this with my girls! The drinks were good and the music selection was top notch! If you looking for a low key, sexy experience! This is it! 10’s across the board!!!

This Black-owned cocktail bar is full of sultry, intimate vibes—and of course it’s right in the best city: Decatur. The bartender (tall guy) was quite rude and unprofessional. I’ve been there twice and it was the same trope. I would not recommend Anansi if you are looking for exquisite customer service through and through. Yes, the atmosphere is lovely and some of the servers are too, but being that this is a cocktail lounge, the bartender sets the stage for the experience in my opinion.
Outside of the bartender being generally stoic and unkind, the primary challenge with my experience came with a startling approach where he stood over my partner and I as we were sitting and jolted the payment apparatus to us saying “you need to close out and leave because your foot is on the table”. While I immediately apologized and moved my foot, the result was still the same. There was accountability for a human mistake, as the tables are leveled at the same height as ottomans, but regardless of this oversight and response, I felt generally uncared for, and dismissed as a customer who wants to support a local business. It was confirmed that I was not the only customer to have placed their foot on the low lying tables, and I am sure I will not be the last. I recommend the establishment place signs to circumvent this from happening again.
Moreover, I would hate for anyone else to be approached in the harmful and intimidating manner that I was by a tall man, especially being a shorter woman.
Either way, I will not be back and have shared this full situational context with my friends and broader community. No one deserves to be treated that way.
Kindness and compassion are a virtue. I recommend customers support the many other businesses that provide this.

This place is such a hidden Gem! I’ve been twice already. The second time I brought people back with me and plan to bring more. The drinks are on point, and the ambiance is everything! It’s a very unique place with low lighting which I love! It gives elevated Love Jones vibes. They don’t serve food as it is a cocktail bar, but they have little snacks like white cheddar popcorn, pretzels, and olives. Oh, and it’s black owned! I can’t wait to visit again!

Thought I would check it out as I’m often in the area for other events. It’s a very small, intimate, upscale space. Perfect for a date night drink. The music was great and not overly loud. Easy to converse over. A little bit of something for everyone on the cocktail menu, including mocktails. It was nice to just sit and sip my cocktail and enjoy the vibe and ambiance of the room.

I really love coming here this is one of my hidden gems spots but if you ever in the area I definitely recommend 10/10 the drinks here are amazing and top tier ! The vibes in here are incredible and it’s well worth the money . Prices isn’t to pricey they actually the best in the city!!
