On a recent trip to California to celebrate a birthday, my Aunt & I had a fabulous meal at Joy Asian Cuisine.

We were greeted with smiles & seated promptly. Several patrons were enjoying their meal as well as a few people who sat at the bar having drinks.

Our server was very polite and attentive. She served our drinks and did not push us to order until we were ready.

The two appetizers we chose were delicious. The pancake had just the right amount of kick to it. The chutney complimented it very nicely.
The spring rolls were crispy and flavorful. Not greasy nor dry.

When duck is available on a menu, I always order it. Duck is one of my favorite dishes. I was not disappointed. The portion size was ample, enough to make a meal for the following day. The duck was accompanied by an orange glaze and a side of rice.

My Aunt thoroughly enjoyed the crispy shrimp which also came on a bed of rice.
We ordered the garlic spinach to share.

The one disappointment was that green tea ice cream was not available. My Aunt opted for vanilla ice cream. A slice of white cake was offered complimentary as a birthday treat.
I sipped on a glass of Merlot.

Overall we had a very pleasant and relaxing evening. I highly recommend JOY Asian Cuisine and look forward to experiencing another unique meal.

This is some really good food that doesn’t shy away from authentic. Love the use of chili and flavor. The ambience is great. It takes you away from the casino so easily. The service was top notch. We even took some Singapore street noodles home with us.

This used to be one of our favourite restaurants until recently. At a visit two weeks ago, we took some friends to Joy for dinner. One side of the table got their food and finished eating before the other side got their food. Meal eventually arrived; however, one of dishes was not what was ordered. The restaurant did not charge for those two items. Last week, we had late lunch at Joy. I ordered tea! We were charged $4 x 2, so $8 for tea apparently because they left two tea cups on the table. At 4 pm, the lights were dimmed. The room became extremely dark. A table of young ladies were using their phones to read the menu. The group gave up and left the restaurant without eating. No longer is Joy Asian our go to place.

JOY is conveniently located at the entrance of Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, making it the perfect spot to refuel after hitting the slots. Recognized as the “Best Asian Restaurant in the Coachella Valley” by OpenTable, I couldn’t resist stopping by to see what the hype was all about.

The menu is huge, featuring a wide variety of Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Thai dishes.

You absolutely have to try their Sichuan chicken wings—crispy, packed with flavor, and totally addictive. Another dish you won’t want to miss is the seabass with black bean sauce. Trust me, you’ll love it!

But the true star of the meal was the Peking duck. Cooked to perfection, with crispy, golden skin on the outside and tender, juicy meat on the inside, it was everything you’d want in a classic Peking duck. It was served with all the traditional fixings—pancakes, hoisin sauce, and fresh scallions—which added layers of flavor and texture to each bite.

If you’re planning to visit, I highly recommend making a reservation because this place fills up quickly!

Our server Laura wasn’t very nice. She made a mistake on our order, which we understand accidents can happen. When she brought back the correct plate she stopped checking in on us but was checking in on others around us. We ordered some waters and asked Laura for some lemons and she never brought them. We had to ask Andrew the gentleman that was refilling our waters for some lemons and he brought them right away. He was very nice and prompt. The Mongolian beef was good, the fried rice was very mushy and the shrimp lomein was very bland. We think the shrimp lomein wasn’t good because it was probably made quick since that was the plate we didn’t receive when we made our order. Tony the manager was really nice and understanding. He took the fried rice off our bill. He apologized and said he would speak to the chef. We didn’t say anything about the shrimp lomein because we received it after we said the fried rice didn’t taste good. We were over our dinner by the time we got our shrimp lomein. The waitress took forever to bring us our bill. We had to call her because you could just tell she didn’t want to stop by our table.

The Spicy Hunan Style Beef was recommended to me by the Assistant Manager Christopher Jones and it was excellent, two ladies could easily share that dish and be super satisfied! And look at that custom margarita There was an hour and a half wait at 6pm with no reservation but they were willing to get me into bar seating within 20 minutes; which was great to still be able to watch the game but in a nicer restaurant setting than the casino floor. Food was fast and fresh ingredients, actual quality! Thank you so much!!

Joy Restaurant has really delicious pan-Asian food. I got the Singapore Style Curry Rice Noodles which I really enjoyed. We also shared the congee and the cucumber salad. Everything tasted great and the service was excellent. My favorite Chinese food in the valley!

So we went nuts here. Needless to say, we felt the joy.

Puns aside, it’s kinda the only “fine dining” Asian food in town. And they do it very well. I don’t think the Google rating does it justice but it’s certainly better than anything else the desert has to provide. Every dish we had was perfectly cooked and prepared as well as most. The portions were voluptuous with all the flavor you expect from good Chinese. I think you just have to remember where you are but it’s a great experience if you haven’t been. But if you want to finish it right go up to the rooftop bar for a nightcap and you might end up with with a hotel stay the next morning.
