Lakon offers uniquely interesting pastries that are both beautiful to look at and taste good. The Basque cheesecake is our favorite item. It’s not too sweet or dense and one can really taste the cheese flavor. The plain croissant is very nice. The cinnamon bun has a great cream cheese frosting but the bun itself is quite dry. After trying that twice now, won’t get it anymore.
Their special holiday snow flake item was small and expensive at almost $12, but it has a hazelnut chocolate mousse center that was quite delicious and I would get that again. Have to be judicious about how much to order here. Everything looks great but am afraid to find out how many calories are in each pastry.
The only complaint I have is that service is very slow. There’s usually just one person taking orders and payment at the register and then packing up the pastries, even though there are multiple people behind the counter not really doing anything much. When there’re a few people in line, the wait can be quite long.

Ever since Lakon opened in Brookline, I have felt very grateful that we have a great place to go for pastries and a good coffee. The service I have recieved here has always been positive. Especially with Fae working there, she makes the experience so positive and has excellent attention to detail!

Drove a few times from RI specifically to this bakery. They are running of many items very quickly. Glad that we can order some items prior and pick up on weekends. A bit on expensive side. The special croissants are great! Love their pastries too, not crazy about their cinnamon buns. Like their savory black squid ink croissant.

If there’s a line, it’s worth the wait. They’ve only gotten better with time. Lakon releases monthly line up of 8-12 new speciality pastries, that keep me coming back. On the pricier side for pastries, but each one is a phenomenal experience

I ordered the tiramisu latte and was in love with it!
The drink came with a layer of cream on top (maybe mascarpone whip?) with a dusting of cocoa and lady fingers laid on top. It tasted amazing! They also have these huge pastries that just looks divine and I would love to come back and eat it again. I saw that they also have a pistachio latte which I will be trying the next time I come back. The staff were so nice and honestly just made the nice, sunny day outside even better.

The display inside the patisserie was beautiful, and the staff were very attentive. I ordered the tiramisu matcha, which was phenomenal, as well as one pistachio and one strawberry croissant. The croissants were beautifully crafted, and most importantly, tasted spectacular! The cream filling was the perfect consistency, not too sweet and not too heavy. I will definitely be coming back!

Croissants were delicious, with the pistachio croissant a standout. Felt the cream was full of flavor without being too sweet. The hazelnut cube we didn’t love, felt a bit too gimmicky and bland, but could be a personal textural thing. Cappuccino was good. Definitely want to go back to try more. No indoor seating

Grabbed a Tira Misu Latte and an Opera cake – both were delicious. The employee that helped me was so kind even though I came in right before closing. I had many people ask me what kind of drink I was having because of how amazing it looks. Definitely a great place to go for afternoon coffee and dessert.
