When in Madison, Indiana grab a bite to eat on the river front. Friendly people and great food.
Dole whip and a Johnny double decker.( I got mine with extra pickles and tartar sauce.
Oh my! Delicious! I haven’t found anything on the menu that wasn’t good. Fries are cooked perfectly. We get ours with a side of cheese.
The prices are also great for the amount of food you get.
When in Madison this is my go to place to eat for a quick bite and great view of the bridge into Kentucky.

Along the picturesque Riverwalk in Madison, Indiana lies a retro ‘50s ice cream stand called Chillbilly Treats.

They have a small menu of classics like double decker burgers, cheese fries, and soft serve ice cream. It is walk-up service, and there are tables scattered around for customers to enjoy their treats overlooking the Ohio River.

We stopped by in the middle of our day for a little ice cream snack. The kids enjoyed a root beer float, pineapple soft serve, and a new cherry dipped cone that matched my wife’s nail polish.

It was a quick visit, but just what we needed to cool down between shopping and dinner.

we stopped by for ice cream, saw customers, the building and the signage, easy order and pay line and easy pick up line, we went on Sunday, Labor Day weekend, constant stream of customers, pleasant treat after walking along the waterfront. small soft serve size is really kiddie size.

So happy this place is open for the season again! I only made it here a couple times before the end of last season. I absolutely can’t stop thinking about the chili cheese fries And the johnny burger. And the soft serve! Honestly I’ll probably try everything eventually lol!

Love the name, the atmosphere is a fun vintage vibe.. old music from times past played with cool classic cars driving down the river it was great. Friendly staff, quick service and the milkshakes were delicious. The location of the place is absolutely perfection. Sitting and watching boats go down the river as we ate.

Huge menu with tons of choices! I had never tried a peach shortcake before, and it was delicious. Plenty of places to sit along the beautiful river. This place was hopping on a Saturday but it was worth the wait!

This place is awesome in the summer time and pretty much anytime they are open. For some reason Google maps suggest its closed down however it is not it opens up spring/summer time and stay open all the way up until October 12pm to 9pm. The have all kind of treats like the footlong chilli dog, giant pretzel and cheese, double decker burger, fish, Sundays, soft serve, then more chillbilly treats than I can name in cone, cups, waffle cones. I mean literally everything on the menu looked delicious and amazing. The service was beyond friendly helpful and fast serving. They have a little outside patio like area you can sit and enjoy your treats at or since its right downtown there are plenty places and benches for you to sit and enjoy the beautiful sceneries and river view. If you haven’t given then a try yet I highly recommend especially on a hot day. It will be just the thing to cool you and the kiddos down and give ya the lil extra boost to keep walking the riverfront if you are.

I ordered an Oreo Brain freeze and I wanted caramel, sprinkles, and cookie dough added to it. I understand that, it’s kind of a tricky order. I get that. So I go up to the front when I receive my ice cream because it was wrong. Supposedly it wasn’t rang up that way on the ticket which is totally fine. No problem. I would’ve paid for the extras, and I told her that. The older lady proceeded to basically argue with me about my ticket instead of just saying okay and fixing the problem. Being from Indianapolis I’m kind of use to customer service workers being rude but definitely did not expect that from any establishment in Madison, IN.

Ordered a Snickere BrainFreeze and a Cherry Milkshake. The Cherry tasted like a Vanilla Milkshake and the Snickers was buried in Chocolat lce cream.
Upon questioning they insisted this was correct. In a very unfriendly response they stated that they don’t care if I don’t like chocolate because that’s how they make their Snickers brain freeze. I should have told them to make it differently.
Threw mine away.
