The soup and bread were amazing the wait staff was very attentive and friendly. The Napoleon had a slightly off, chemical taste in the custard but the pastry and the icing were very good. The fruit tart was delicious. We would definitely go back!
1.20.26- I’m entering another review today as we went back to the Marigold Cafe & Bakery this past weekend. We had a fantastic time with the staff and other patrons while we watched the Denver game. The food was excellent, and the owner, Gus, was very engaging and entertaining; providing several dishes, including desserts to try. We especially liked the shrimp tempura, the coconut Frazier cake, German chocolate cake and the raspberry cheesecake! The lobster bisque and fresh baguettes are scrumptious. It was an amazing experience and we are looking forward to going back in the next couple of weeks with several friends. There is plenty of parking and the restaurant is extremely kid friendly, so bring your friends and family for an unforgettable experience.

Excellent from start to finish. They were able to seat us quickly and every person we spoke with was an absolute delight. I love that they bring the kids fruit and $2 bills while we waited for the food orders, it was such a nice touch. The food was really delicious and tasted so fresh (croutons, pizza, all of it tasted homemade), not to mention the desserts looked divine.

Bottom line: You’ll pay a little bit more but you really can’t beat the service and quality that you get.

Flavors!

The fresh bread with butter, the French onion soup, the Beef Bourguignon, and lastly, the Fraisier.

Beverages: espresso martini

The food here is extremely flavorful and always fresh. This is the restaurant that does it all and does it well. They offer different menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner however I’ve only tried their dinner the last few times I’ve dined in.

The Beef Bourguignon was my favorite and the reason was because of how tender the meat was. It was very flavorful and cooked throughly to render the tenderness. Very nicely paired with Garlic mash which are always lovely made fresh and the roasted veggies. The roasted veggies add that touch of Smokey to the already amazing flavors. YUM

The soup is good, just a nice onion soup with very cheesy top and slivers of soft onion and croutons. Great for cheese pulls

The Fraiser is a 10/10. I’ve tried a few of there desserts over the few times I’ve visited and this one for me is my absolute favorite. All items are baked fresh in-house and are all a special treat.

The food here is everything!

Their staff are phenomenal, we were greeted as soon as we walked in and sat within 3 minutes. (Tuesday night) Gus is the manager there and is very friendly. I can tell their staff takes pride in their restaurant and make sure they do what ever they can to make sure their guests are enjoying a true dinning experience.

This is the 3rd time I’ve been in the last 6 months and this place is always a special treat.

Disclaimer: this is a pricey place. Dinner for 2 was about $160

My birthday dinner at Marigold Café & Bakery was absolutely amazing! Thank you to the best husband in the world for such a special night. The staff—Joey, Max, and so many others—were wonderful, and owner Gus Nehmes truly went next level to make my birthday unforgettable. Every bite—from dinner to dessert—was absolutely amazing. This was hands down the best dining experience we’ve ever had!

A Warm, Family-Friendly Gem in Colorado Springs

We had such a lovely dinner at Marigold Café & Bakery, and it quickly became one of our favorite spots in Colorado Springs. From the moment we sat down, the staff went out of their way to make our kids feel comfortable. The manager (or owner) welcomed them with genuine kindness, and throughout the meal he checked in with a level of care that’s incredibly rare these days.

At one point our three-year-old was upset about butter (toddler life!), and he took the time to ask our permission to show her the butter they use and even peek into the bakery area to see some chocolate being prepared. She lit up, ate better than she ever has in a restaurant, and kept saying how much she loved “this awesome place.” Both kids talked the whole drive home about wanting to come back.

The service overall was excellent—attentive without being intrusive. It honestly felt like being welcomed into someone’s home, but with the professionalism and quality you hope for in a great local restaurant. We moved to town about six months ago, and this kind of warm, family-friendly hospitality makes us even happier to call Colorado Springs home.

I also noticed how intentionally kind the staff were with the tables around us, not just ours. It’s clear this is part of the culture at Marigold, not a one-off.

Great food, wonderful service, and a place that truly takes care of its guests. Highly recommend Marigold Café & Bakery for families, date nights, and anyone looking for a welcoming local restaurant in Colorado Springs.

It is extremely rare for me to say that a restaurant is 5 stars. I am a very critical person when it comes to food. I have been cooking my entire life and it is a passion of mine. Marigold Cafe is absolutely worth 5 stars. I have been here 3 times now; once by myself, once with my family, and once with my wife on a date. All 3 times the service was fantastic. One of the owners brought out gifts for our daughters, he was very kind. As for the food I could instantly taste the quality and the level of effort put into the preparation. Everything was delicious and fresh. The entrees are a bit pricey but the kid’s menu items are a steal at under $10 for large portions. For my family, Marigold is a guaranteed great experience.

My husband and I are relatively new to the area and Marigold was highly recommended for their desserts. My parents were visiting from the east coast and when we saw they offered dinner, we made reservations and are leaving very happy and stuffed! Food was delicious, their specials (tempura lobster and crispy Brussels sprouts) were amazing. Dessert lived up to the reputation. Our waitress was also so kind and knew answers to all the questions. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back.

Wow, what a great experience. Food was superb, desserts amazing, and the service was great! We used to come here 10+ years ago before moving away. Our last experience wasn’t good and cooled us all the way down from the place. But we wanted to come back and try again. Great decision!

Steak was cooked perfect mid rare, prime rib was ordered rare snd delivered rare. Then the desserts… German chocolate mousse and Black Forest were so good.

We noticed that all the servers were coming to the table next to us, like everyone. So finally we just asked and they were super regulars. The owner came by while we were all talking and the next thing you know, he has FOUR more desserts to us! Raspberry cheesecake, carrot cake, and a strawberry cream cake. All amazing, plus he sent us an eclairs. Such a great experience and just what we needed at the holidays.

We had ordered a Yule log cake for Christmas and the owner took us back to see the factory cranking them out. Smelled so amazing. And the cake was truly exceptional on Xmas night.

Can’t wait to go back!
