If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, Chih’ua Restaurant & Bar is the spot to visit! We stopped in for their breakfast and lunch buffet, which is only $20, and it’s worth every penny. The buffet had a great variety — everything was hot, fresh, and full of flavor. You can really taste that everything is made from scratch, just like homemade Mexican cooking.
They also have a regular menu if you prefer ordering a plate, but honestly, the buffet alone gives you a chance to try a bit of everything — from chilaquiles, eggs, and tamales to menudo and fresh tortillas. And here’s what I really appreciated: if there’s something on the buffet that normally comes with a topping like crema or cheese, they’ll gladly prepare it for you fresh in the back at no extra charge. That’s the kind of service that makes a big difference.
Our waiter Oscar was excellent — super friendly, attentive, and patient in answering all my questions. You can tell he really cares about making sure everyone enjoys their experience.
Overall, this place feels warm, welcoming, and true to its roots. The food tastes authentic, the staff makes you feel like family, and the price is more than fair for the quality you get. I’ll definitely be coming back — it’s easily one of the best Mexican breakfast buffets in El Paso! ☕

I was looking for a breakfast buffet. The have pretty good selection of foods on the buffet line but some items have to be ordered and brought to your table, like eggs to order and bacon. Really good bang for the buck. Waitress was very attentive.

The Buffet is excellent!! They have a great variety, not only at the bar, but also made to order. If you go for lunch, it starts around 2pm. They’re still getting rid of the brunch before that time. Their service is also great.

Two very white Midwesterns have been travelling around Texas for a month. We have tried and failed to find good Mexican food the whole time because we don’t know what to order. This was PERFECT! We had everything! Don’t know what any of it was but it was excellent. So many choices. Absolutely the best meal we have had in Texas. Thank you!

Super busy before holiday! Went Sunday December 21st for the breakfast buffet! Complimentary agua fresca while waiting. They accommodate large groups. Most options I’ve seen in awhile. A kitchen by the buffet if you want anything custom like bacon, or an omelet, eggs to custom order, etc! Wait staff was super attententive! Price wasn’t bad either! Cool Christmas train set display and Christmas wonderland to look at while you wait!

Food is very traditional Mexican delicacies. A wide variety of selections for everyone to enjoy. Food is well prepared, temperature well maintained and all areas are being constantly monitored for cleanliness and ensuring food does not run out. It is definitely a nice place to sit with friends and/or family and enjoy great quality of Mexican food. Be sure to swing by, whenever you don’t feel like cooking at home, you are with family and friends, after church on a beautiful Sunday morning or simply whenever traveling through the peaceful and quiet town of El Paso TX!!!!

3/14/25, the food sucked toco buffet is the worst idea the restaurant was dead like 4 tables were being used. I asked for 2 waters with ice, got 2 without ice, and asked for a glass of ice, got it less, then halfway full. The morning buffet is so much better.
2 weeks ago i eat here today 2/2/25 this hostess fat ponytail black hair short with a cowboys jersey on with the name Prescott just gave me 1 glass of water walked around asking others around me if e everyone was good but never refilling my water or asking me if i was ok but she was real good in making sure she was at the counter ready to take ur payment. She asked me if i was going to leave a tip. i was going to tell her that with the service i received, it doesn’t require a tip. Only if she would of once asked i had $10 as a tip last time i was here the guy got $10 its the principal of the work & effort that is made not the must having to leave a tip.
First time here & and wow, the food is good, not hot. I mean, spicy all was good taste . Let see on my next trip if the foos is good
