My family just loves Abbott’s! The owners Joe and Paul, as well as their staff, are so sweet and helpful. We get all our birthday cakes from Abbott’s and my daughter will only eat their custard! If you are looking for a delicious treat and great service, Abbott’s is your place!

The indoor seating is adorable and perfect for a date or outing with the kids. The custard was good, a little melted as soon as we got it though. Their flavors are limited due to them making their custard daily but I actually like that better. I have had better custard but I would come here again.

Abbott’s is getting skimpy to say the least. Just a small vanilla cone with sprinkles pushes $7 and the scoop is small and sprinkles are very sparse. I find whits to be much better value- I don’t mind paying for ice cream, but I at least want a solid scoop and toppings to justify the high price. Similar to the small shake- the cup size advertised is larger than the actually 8.5 oz cup provided- again over $7 for a small shake- McDonalds is a way better deal and basically the same taste – just such a gamble if McDonald’s machine is working. I hope things improve for abbott’s it used to be such a better value.

Rarely does Ice Cream ever disappoint but paying almost $10 for 5/8ths ice cream and a topping (blended in) 3/8ths whipped cream (roughly 8.5 oz of ice cream) seems criminal. I’ve came here since it’s opened and the portions seem to shrink and the price seems to continue to increase. I’m paying almost the same for 1/3 of the same amount as before. I know shrinkflation and inflation are real, but it seems rampant here. The ice cream is solid, but not the best ever, probably the last time I’ll visit, just due to value. I’ve spoke with the owner previously, nice guy, and usually everyone is pretty friendly but spending $35-40 dollars for a family ice cream trip seems unreasonable and unrealistic.

Dear Abbots Team,

My daughter and I have always loved Abbots in Tega Cay — it’s been our go-to spot for peanut butter flurries. Unfortunately, our last two visits were very disappointing.

Last week, my daughter went with her grandparents and came home upset because the flurry didn’t have the peanut butter sauce or chunks on top like usual. I didn’t think much of it until we went together tonight, and the same thing happened.

We ordered two small peanut butter flurries (no whip), which came to nearly $20 with tip. When they were brought over, there was no whipped cream, no sauce, and no peanut butter chunks. When I asked about it, the staff member said the whip was on there (it clearly wasn’t), and that he wasn’t trained to add the peanut butter sauce or chunks. He even said the picture behind him was “just for show.” After I politely asked, he eventually added the sauce but seemed frustrated and confused about the chunks, saying, “What chunks?”

They also mentioned that there’s new management — and that it’s the reason their new card system is so slow. If this is the direction Abbots is going under new management, it’s really disappointing. We’ve always loved the quality and service, but if you’re giving less for the same (or higher) prices, you’re going to lose loyal customers like us.

We truly hope this can be addressed so Abbots can
stay the special place it’s always been for our family.

Sincerely,
Teri Dineen]

I had high hopes for Abbott’s, but unfortunately, they didn’t quite deliver. The shop itself is spotless and well-organized, with a tempting array of merchandise and custard treats. The frozen chocolate turtles and Oreo Wheels looked especially inviting. We decided to start with a classic cup of chocolate custard, served by a cheerful young woman whose friendliness added a warm touch to the visit.

Once back in the car and heading home, the custard proved disappointing. While the texture was smooth and creamy, the flavor fell flat—surprisingly lacking in chocolate richness. I even gave it a second try to confirm Mrs. K.’s impression, but we ended up discarding most of it. Perhaps it was just an off batch. If I’m back in Rock Hill or Tega Cay, I might give Abbott’s another chance.

Super yummy frozen custard! It’s our favorite local spot! The kids love to play connect four and tic-tac-toe which are left out for customers to enjoy. They’re open late and have a great seating area outside. Lastly, the staff is so nice and friendly. Highly recommend!

Great experience here – we arrived right at 11 and doors already unlocked. Great ambiance and I love the blue. Very clean yet with details in the lighting, games on the tables and organized. Plenty of seating including a patio.

The vanilla custard was delectable. They only had three flavors available and when I messaged, I got a reply how it depends on if they need to clean machine between etc. I am totally okay with only three flavors in the AM since they are hand made daily. Just a tip that afternoon there may be more flavors available.

Cashier was friendly. Best custard I’ve had around town and will be sure to return. I definitely want to try one of their pies or cookie sandwiches!!

Abbott’s has really tasty custard. They have a bit of an old fashioned feel when you enter the store.

They seem to employee a lot of teenagers which is a really good thing! They are always friendly and very polite.

I think the prices are slightly higher than the other ice cream/custard restaurants in the area. I have enjoyed each of my visits here BUT there is nothing “special” here that would make me chose this restaurant over the other local places.
