Stopped by for lunch and enjoyed the food, service and patio area inside. Good cerveza frío with tortilla chips and guacamole I really liked my grilled fish tacos (needed more cabbage) Mi esposo enjoyed her shrimp tacos. Real nice patio with smiling servers. Fair prices. Recommend visit on the Ancha.

The restaurant, Hecho en México, serves as a perfect entry to San Miguel’s layered history. Tucked into a narrow street of modest façades with worn stone underfoot and close balconies that feel intimately watchful, its entrance draws you in as a quiet threshold before the Parroquia’s spectacle. Inside, prawns arrive perfectly cooked, bright and assertive, while colorful paintings and warm decor echo the town—layered, theatrical, boldly confident. Attentive yet unhurried service turns the meal into a preface, tuning you to stone, light, and history as you step back out.

The walk uphill reveals the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel: a Gothic spire in the highlands, clad in cantera rosa, volcanic tuff that carves soft and hardens, blending indigenous land with European craft. Its scale signals vast capital, begging what wealth fueled such ambition. San Miguel was a silver-trade nexus on the Camino Real, channeling riches to Acapulco’s Manila galleons. Families like De la Canal built global empires; their church solidified silver into stone. Today, Mojigangas (Spanish-rooted puppets) dance in its shadow, embodying joyous Mexican reinvention. The Spanish gave blueprint and capital; Mexico grew the soul. The Parroquia freezes that heart, while streets, walls, and a prawn plate pulse the script. You leave not just seeing a place’s essence, but briefly living it.

According the others reviews I was expecting more for this restaurant . We had sopa de pollo it was good, the ceviche tostada is not was I expected not a traditional fish ceviche. The dissatisfaction was the coconut shrimp tasted like old oil and was extremely hard to bite into the shrimp.. For the price is not worth it. I think for the high volume of customers they served they need to improve the quality of the food. The server was attentive.

Reasonable prices, generous portions, Mexican food, and American food. It’s a large restaurant that can accommodate bigger parties. There is a pretty courtyard in the middle, and a bar if you prefer that type of seating. The staff is very nice and the food is delicious.

This delightful little cafe accomplishes just what it sets out to do. It’s a inside courtyard with quick and delicious lunch offerings. I was just ready for a sandwich and the BLAST (Bacon / Lettuce / Avoc/Swiss on Toast hit the spot perfectly. It was nicely browned with ample amount of goodies.

My husband got the fish tacos. The guy who “wasn’t very hungry” ate everything on the plate.

It’s a good value too. For $30USD, we left happily full and refreshed.

Excellent restaurant with authentic Mexican cuisine! The atmosphere feels very intimate and the service is really good. I unfortunately only took a photo of the dessert we had but honestly it deserves its own praise! Best brownie we ever ate

We had lunch here and it was great! We sat outside in the courtyard area and it was very pleasant. Enjoyed watching the hummingbirds eat as well! The food was also very good! My husband had the chicken mole and says it’s probably the best he ever had. I had grilled shrimp tacos and they were very good. We have two younger kids and one is very picky. There was a very good kids menu for them. One ordered spaghetti with butter and steamed vegetables—she was happy! The other ordered the burger and fries and didn’t think it was the best burger in the world (but, it’s a Mexican restaurant—I wouldn’t say burgers would be their specialty!). Prices were very reasonable. We would definitely recommend this place!

We are a family of 8 and ate there last night. The service was excellent, I don’t recall our waiter’s name but he was great. I enjoyed our food, but the chicken Parmesan was missing a bit of flavor. We ordered the NY strip and Arrachera medium, but we sent them back because they were undercooked. The rajas y crema were delicious. Prices were very reasonable for SMA. Drinks were good I would recommend.
