The why as to the lavishing praises I will never know. Did I miss something that makes all the difference between an average taco and a great one? I never been one to dislike positive reviews, but this Crazy Taco being a great quality food for a bargain price I disagree entirely. Edible? Certainly! Above average, best carnitas or carne asada, that is a long way from being so. $1.50 per mini taco is a fair offer, but the meats were diced so small, covered with average salsa, what exactly makes them great?
Bought 8 tacos for $12. Carne Asada, Pastor, Chicken, Carnitas. Funny enough, my female companion who is always complaining, liked them very much. I had better of each meat, but must congratulate their set up, and completely sure the flow of clientele will not suffer not even a hiccup, for these little tacos. 3 Stars.
$5 Quesadilla with Carnitas and Chicken. Yes, they were nice to accommodate both. Basically a medium size flour tortilla folded in half, as for the quesadilla part, the cheese flew back to Holland for the weekend, because this one had almost zero. I don’t think it left a long lasting impression, and $5 is such an accessible bill. I seen that approach, where they skip the most important part of an item named after cheese, but it happens in even so called reputable franchises, that suck even worst. 3 Stars. Yet reviewers in Chico embrace this hole in the wall as a rare temple of excellence. Did I miss something? Probably the whole show is what I’m thinking . Hard working people, wish them the best, but the best to be had? Or the cheapest for that matter? $17 duckies beg to differ! 3 Stars.

EDIT: { Not bad. Not amazing. I’m a big hot sauce guy and their “spicy” is just a couple jalapenos on the side. }Haven’t had the privilege of eating here yet, not for lack of effort.
I only have money in cash app right now and they’re cash only, I guess…? Which sucks cuz I just walked 4 blocks to get there, barefoot in 99° weather, burning the soles of my feet off to find out they don’t accept the most majorly accepted form of payment we have in this age; debit cards. Cool.
Also, I tried to buy a drink from the shop and got kicked out for not having shoes on…? So idk if they’ll be getting a penny from me, ever. Sucks to suck.

This place is a lifesaver when I’m in a rush. It’s perfect for grabbing a bite without a lot of fuss. I love that I can get a decent meal in no time at all. It’s so convenient for those busy evenings. You won’t spend ages waiting for your food. It’s exactly what you need after a long day. Seriously, it hits the spot when you’re hungry and short on time. I’ll definitely be back for another quick fix.

I contemplated a 5 star, but the area is just a little too sketchy. Burritos are pretty middle of the road, but the tacos are very good (dare I say crazy good)

Pricing is fair on most dishes. Tacos are an especially good deal

Edit:

I’ve upgraded to a 4 star. Over the course of a month I’ve made a point of trying other places in the area, and very few compare.

Love this place. My wife and I go twice a week. Been going forever. They know our orders and the prices are fair. $$$ only though.

Carne asada bowl. And chicken quesadilla

If you didn’t know to look for this place, you’d easily just drive by. It’s an unassuming walk up window taco shop, in the side of a liquor store but the food is really flavorful and you can’t beat their prices. I’ve tried several things but the carnitas tacos are something I’ll drive out of my way to pick up. I also love being able to go into the store and grab a drink from the large selection available (usually a Bundaburg tbh).

I have been coming here for a few years. All of the employees have been more than kind to me. The fact that they have a super affordable taco shop is just a bonus. The place is basically a service window on a convenient store. But I assure you it’s good and quick.
Thanks for being good people. I will be back.

This is literally a hole in the wall. Good not fancy food. One of our regulars here in Chico. It is literally a takeout window on the side of a liquor store there’s nothing fancy about this at all just good food.

The food is tummy pleasing. My son loves the tacos and the super burrito was more than I could eat at one time. The food was fresh and delicious. I was disappointed only with the guacamole. It was more sauce in texture and flavor.

Crazy Taco is an absolute gem in Chico! I can’t say enough good things about this authentic Mexican take-out spot. From the moment you walk up to the window, you’re greeted by the friendly staff and the casual, welcoming atmosphere.

The menu is a true Mexican delight. Whether you’re a student looking for a quick bite or just a food lover seeking flavorful options, Crazy Taco has you covered. The diverse menu offers everything from breakfast burritos that kickstart your day to hearty lunchtime taco feasts and satisfying dinner choices.

What sets Crazy Taco apart is not just the delicious food, but also their quick service. I’ve never had to wait long for my order, making it a perfect spot for those on the go. They even have late-night options, which is a lifesaver when those late-night cravings strike.

One thing to note is that Crazy Taco operates on a cash-only basis, so make sure you have some cash on hand. Duke’s Liquor allows for cash back to quickly get the amazing food and service you receive.

The variety of options is impressive, and as a vegetarian, I’m thrilled to find plenty of choices to satisfy my cravings. The flavors are authentic, and the portions are generous.

Whether you’re getting takeout, to enjoy a meal at home or through delivery, Crazy Taco has you covered. I can’t recommend this place enough for anyone who appreciates delicious Mexican cuisine. It’s become my go-to spot for all things Mexican in Chico. Don’t miss out on this culinary gem!
