Hidden gem alert, if you’re in Aberdeen and haven’t checked out Big Fella’s Bar and Grill yet, you’re seriously missing out. From the second you walk in, you can tell you’re about to have a solid, laid-back local bar experience.
We got seated quick, drinks came out fast, and we kicked things off with some table onion rings perfectly cooked with that golden crispy outside and tender bite inside. Super good start.
I went with the classic cheeseburger with raw onions honestly, that’s all you need. I even forgot to add bacon and didn’t miss it one bit. Someone at our table ordered the double cheeseburger and wow… easily one of the biggest burgers I’ve ever seen. Absolute unit.
We also shared tater tots with cheese and grilled onions cooked perfectly, but the real star was that cheeseburger. Big, nicely charred on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside… legit one of my top five burgers I’ve ever had.
We’re already planning to make this a regular stop on the days they’re open (Thursday through Saturday if you’re wondering). Do yourself a favor and swing by you won’t be disappointed.

Best place I have been to in South Dakota. Does not seat many people and we had to wait but it was well worth it. My kids are picky eaters and they loved it. Ice cream was great as well. The owner loves what he does and he was giving encouragement and praise to his staff in front of the entire place. That was nice to see. The food itself was fantastic. Wish we had a place like this in Sioux Falls.

The ribeye was phenomenal!!!
Minimal fat, meat melted in my mouth, gotta be one of, if not the best, ribeye I’ve ever eaten!
My coworker had the single cheeseburger (1 pound patty) and that was supposedly awesome, as well!
Would recommend to anyone looking for a great meal, great atmosphere and exceptional service!

This place is amazing, it has by far the best food in town! The kitchen is in plain site so you can see all your food being made and how shiny and clean the surfaces are in that kitchen! ….. oh and then there’s the owner! This guy will walk around from table to table and ask you how your food is! Might even crack a joke! This is a classic small business that needs to be recognized! Oh and one more thing food us amazing and the burgers are huge!

Great little place. Unassuming, but fantastic steak! Fantastic service. I got the Big Fella Sirloin meal and enjoy everything about it. The Garlic Aioli dipping sauce made in house was superb.

What an amazing find on our little trip! Unreal portions of one of the best burgers (Bruce admitted better than Dads!).
Luckily we were here on a Friday!! Amazing Prime Rib cooked perfectly medium rare!
So many other great choices on the menu and several specials at prices that don’t break a family.
Fun atmosphere. Free soft serve for dessert.
To cap off this 10/10 and make it an ELEVEN! Owner/cook came to every and I mean EVERY table to thank regulars to visitors like family.
Will be back every time we are close to Aberdeen and possibly again for the trek home!!

This was our 1st visit here while in Aberdeen for state trap tournament. We had to wait a little while for a table, but if we were in Sioux Falls or Rapid, we wouldn’t have gotten a table. This place does not NEED reviews for people to stop … the food will bring you back! Had prime rib, rib eye, and the mac n cheese with brisket. AWESOME! Next time we are going to tackle the 3 pound burger!
