CHELSEA knows what’s up! She was an excellent server. I’ve been wanting to go to this place for a while so my review may come across as a bit biased.

We got free szechuan fries for signing up for the app, so I highly recommend that. Based on the fries alone the place deserves five stars. The pulled hot chicken used in that was delicious and is what I was expecting for the two piece boneless thighs with mac and cheese. I’m not a big fan of spice, so I got them in the painless heat level with comeback sauce. Maybe it’s because of the heat level I chose, but they tasted off, like some vegetable oil was overpowering the chicken. Next time I’m going to try the tenders to see if there’s a difference. I could also have tried it Korean style, but I wouldn’t recommend it plain crispy on the painless heat level. I enjoyed the macaroni, it isn’t super cheesy and was pretty light.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get points in the app for our order because you can’t input a past order if you used a discover card to pay, which is weird.

TLDR: Worth the hype, but get the tenders over the bone-in chicken, and the szechuan fries are great if you enjoy seasoning.

This Tumble 22 is such a great and important part of the Austin dining landscape — delicious, down home comfort food (with heat that can be spiked up at will), a cool, modern industrial chic atmosphere, table service, well-priced adult beverages, comfortable booths, bar seating, and a lovely patio. It works for a quick lunch by yourself, a relaxed dinner with another, and a gathering of family or friends. It even has its own version of a happy hour from 3-6 M-F.

The spicy chicken is the star of course. We got ours “hot” — just one click up from mild, but there were several additional steps up the ladder to ghost peppers and beyond. The hot, which is seedless jalapeños, was plenty spicy for us, and the slices of sweet bread and butter pickles helped with cooling. I prefer chicken wings and breasts, and I appreciate the opportunity to pay a reasonable up charge to substitute more breasts on the half chicken dinner.

The sides are also done well. Of the six options, we got beans, Cole slaw (really good and thank you for not making it sweet!), and collard greens with lots of bacon.

Pies for dessert are displayed in the restaurant entrance. We had the chocolate pecan and the buttermilk and loved both.

There were about six or eight craft beers on tap. House wines are available. Over a couple of hours, we enjoyed a 512 Juicy IPA, a house white wine, a house red, and a margarita. Yum.

We will be back again and again.

Fun, welcoming chicken restaurant with a bar, tables, booths, and a shaded patio. I visited after Tasting Table rated there OG classic chicken sandwich as the best in Texas.
The ample, crunchy chicken breast and buttery bun are complimented by spicy seasoning, kale slaw, pickles, and mayo. Rather than just a sandwich, it tastes like a meal, and a well-constructed balance of flavors and textures creamy, crunchy, fluffy, juicy, and picante.
For this and their other sandwiches, baskets, tenders, etc they offer a handful of spice levels, sides, and the case of pies at the front door. Their bar also has several beers on tap and a list of cocktails.
This location shares a large free parking lot with adjacent businesses.

The food – I got the 2 tender at mo hot, coleslaw on the side and an Arnold Palmer. The tenders were on top of regular white bread, they were crispy and tore up nicely, and the heat was from a dry rub that wasn’t too overwhelming, hot enough to feel the heat but not too hot that it’s intolerable.

The coleslaw was creamy and not soggy, very light seasoning. It was a great combo to eat with the chicken tenders.

I also got a chocolate cream pie, which was delicious. It did have a good amount of cream that some might find overwhelming, but the taste of the chocolate filling and the cookie like crust(not pie crush, more like a soft cookie) was a great combo.

The service was great , with the recommendations from the gentleman coming thru for the pies. And the atmosphere was very soothing and not too loud. Overall great experience and good food. Highly recommend.

Arrived around 230pm and it was a little slow. Melanie waited on from the bar and did a fantastic job. My food came out in about ten minutes an everything was perfect. I had originally planned on taking my food to go but Melanie made room for me at the bar and served me some water. I had a really positive experience.

The food was really good. I got the third level and it wasn’t so hot that it hurt, just a nice constant warmth that hung around on your lips. The food was hot and the sauces really make the experience. The fries on the side were a little underwhelming but they are good as a vehicle for more of that comeback sauce.

The atmosphere is casual but a little quiet. No music and the kitchen is open so you can hear the staff making orders. It’s a great chicken place, one of the better in Austin. Definitely worth a try and ask for Melanie.

Very good and Moist Chicken!! Got the 2 Chicken Tender Combo, and luckily hit Happy Hour to get a side as well. All the food was great and very quick service! Recommend the Hot Honey and BBQ Sauce, would definitely come again whenever I visit here.

Best nashville hot chicken!! The chicken is always so well fried – crispy but moist inside. I’ve had the sandwiches, tenders, and the bone-in mixes, and they’re all good. Their seasonal menus are always a hit too!

I got the dang and cluckin’ hot and they weren’t too spicy – just the right amount.

I’m usually not a mac-n-cheese person but theirs is SO GOOD. Make it dirty and it’s even better. Their beans are good too!

This hot chicken hits hard in all the right ways. I got the “Mo’ Hot” spice level, and it brought the heat without killing my taste buds—just enough to make me sweat and smile.

The chicken? Ridiculously crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Exactly how Nashville-style should be.
Fries were perfectly seasoned, and the coleslaw was the cool, crunchy balance I didn’t know I needed. That combo? A 10/10.

Casual vibes, quick service, and major flavor.
Already planning my return—might even brave the “Stupid Hot” next time.
