We were impressed – we had steak crostini as an appetizer with goat cheese that was delish! Main course we both enjoyed blue cheese burgers which were cooked perfectly and tasted yummy! Dessert was pistachio truffle for my husband and tiramisu for me which was AWESOME! Top them with Dublin coffee and an espresso martini and you’ve just had yourself a wonderful experience. Servers were attentive and very nice! The only downside was that it was rather warm and the folks at the bar were ridiculously loud and bawdy. I’m sure they were just having a good time but it did carry a bit. Our table was on the other side of the restaurant and we had no problem hearing each other.

Sigh….. *disappointment alert ⚠️* I would avoid this place and don’t believe the hype/ crowds.
Since moving to the area my fiancé and I always had this restaurant on our list to visit since it always seemed crowded and the reviews were decent.
Fast forward 3 years later, we finally decided to stop in since it was Friday and there were a few visible parking spots.
Upon entering there were no tables available but we were seated immediately outside (no one else outside at the time). We stated that was fine, as long as they “didn’t forget about us”. The staff was really friendly and took our order pretty quickly which was great, but then things went downhill.
We ordered pizza, burgers, salad and an entree. The pizza came out after about 25 mins which was okay and was nice and really thin/ crunchy which is hard to find. They forgot to give us appetizer plates and forgot about us so we had to eat without any napkins etc. After about what seemed like 40 mins they brought out the salad which was absolutely disgusting since the “balsamic dressing ” looked like a thick light brown gravy. At that point I was finally able to request plates, napkins etc. They brought out the plates and they all looked improperly cleaned with clearly visible food residue! GROSS! Besides the constant (3x) we heard dishes breaking inside and the random weird scent of sewer, we reached our breaking point and just couldn’t stomach even staying there any longer. We sat there for over an hour and our burgers were still not ready, so we promptly requested the check and high tailed it out of there. Between the sanitary concerns and ridiculous wait times for simple meals….. yeah this place has a lot of “character” alright. Maybe we caught them on an “off day”, but we have no intentions of ever returning to find out.

First time there,friendly bar and restaurant. Friday night bar was packed. Which is always a good sign. Stayed for meal had salmon with lemon caper sauce was very good. My husband had Philly cheese steak pizza which he enjoyed. Waitress was very attentive and the wine was a good pour! All,finally will go back

We were heading through the area and decided to try Characters, and it did not disappoint. The food was very good, had a cream of turkey soup that was delicious, tried the Irish Nachos which was also good. Main dishes were great and the portions were large. We will be stopping here again.

Went for lunch and enjoyed. Portions are big and we were given a choice of soup or salad to start the lunch special. Soup of the day was butternut squash and was delicious. Had the roast beef french dip with onion rings instead of fries ( no upsharge) served with slaw and a pickle. Server was extremely attentive and pleasant.

I recently had a retirement party for my dad here. I was blown away with the quality and service of the whole party, they exceeded my expectations. All of the food was absolutely delicious and the staff was very attentive to my family everyone was delightful!

After wandering the beautiful Ringwood manor property I had a craving for Buffalo chicken wrap. We saw the rating of Characters and walked in. It was St Patrick’s day. The bagpiper was entertaining and it was full. Yet the servers were gracious and caring and patient l. We couldn’t get our Buffalo wrap as it was a special menu but we enjoyed the thin crust, most delicious Buffalo chicken pizza. The bread was warm and soft. We had a lovely evening. Try this place.

Our visit on 11/29/24 – The staff initially seemed friendly and energetic, which gave us a positive first impression. Unfortunately, what followed was a wait of over 30 minutes for our lunch, with no communication that the kitchen was backed up. During that time, more staff came by to clear our table than to update us on the delay. The lack of transparency and attentiveness made the experience frustrating. Needless to say, this will be our last visit.

Couldn’t even tell you how food or drink was because we patiently waited 30 minutes to be seen by a waiter (we left bc that’s nuts.) after being told to pick our own table. Mind you, there were abt 4 other small parties in the room, more empty tables than customers & we didn’t even get WATER. Watched 3 bus boys clean the same few tables without asking if we needed help/were being served. Incredibly disappointed in how inattentive staff is, will not return.
