Just One Opinion
Because the weather has been so nice (middle of January) we decided to take the 5th wheel out and go to Reno. Our normal RV park (at the GSR) has been demolished, so we gave the KOA at Boomtown, just outside of Reno, a try. The Verdi Grillhouse is on the same property as Boomtown, and we went there for dinner.
First of all, the place is super clean. The bathrooms were spotless, as well as the casino and restaurant. The three employees we encountered were as friendly and welcoming as you get. I was having a hard time deciding between the ribeye steak and ribs. The ribeye was only $25.00, and I have had my fill of cheap steaks in my lifetime. I asked the person who seated us if the steak was good. He responded that it was great and got ordered a lot. So I ordered it with a loaded baked potato and 6 chilled jumbo prawns.
The prawns were very tasty, huge, and were only $9.00. Then came the steak. it looked great with grill marks on both sides. The vegetables were fresh and cooked perfectly, as was the baked potato.
Now for the steak: Man, what a surprise. It was one of the most flavorful and best steaks I have had in a long time. Even better than many that I have paid three times as much for. The only complaint was that I ordered it medium-rare and it came medium-well. But, in the end, it didn’t matter; it was that good!
My wife had a salad with a fresh-grilled piece of chicken. She said it was great and the chicken was super moist.
Finally, our waitress topped off this great meal. I wish I had gotten her name, as she was very attentive and had a nice personality.
All in all, a great experience at a price that was right.
Round 2:
Another day at the KOA RV park. After another great day in the area, we decided to go for round #2 at the Verdi Grillhouse. Once again, every employee we encountered couldn’t have been any nicer. I had originally gone in for the ribs but saw a sign at the front of the restaurant stating a full chicken dinner for $9.99. Man, it seems finding any restaurant that serves real fried chicken nowadays is pretty rare, so what the heck, ribs be damned, and fried chicken it is.
What a meal! Three pieces of perfectly fried chicken (leg, thigh, and breast) along with mashed potatoes w/gravy, corn, and a bisket w/honey. The meal was absolutely fantastic, and I wouldn’t change a thing.
So, there we are. Another great meal served by a really nice lady in a clean, quiet, modern place.
Oh, one more thing: The lady in the customer service cage in the casino was a gem. I don’t know who does the hiring in this place but they deserve a raise.

Manager greeted us when we came in. Service was wonderful. Great value for the money on the food. Quick seating. Not too busy. We love the Summit Chicken Sandwich. Definitely worth the try!!

Great food. Great service. The prime rib special was fantastic. My wife had hers rare while I had midrare. We had a bit of a wait due to the fact they were busy, but that was understandable with the number of people in the restaurant.

Great spot. I recommend it if you’re passing through, hitting up Cabelas, or coming off Crystal Peak in your UTV, etc. The food is super high-quality, and the service is fast, even when the restaurant is busy. This is my third time, and I plan to return again and again.
Small quibble:
Kinda odd that you can’t sub fries with the biscuits and gravy, but can order them on the side. Weird and rigged.

Excellent service by a friendly staff. The food was great and plenty of it! Desert was delicious. Plus you can gamble before or after or both. Seating is booths and tables plus outside seating. Plus plus, prices are great.

The chicken strips were fantastic! I really liked the breading on them. The meat was moist and broke apart easily. The fries were pretty dang good too!
The breakfast on the other hand wasn’t as good. The hollandaise was very rich, too rich.
They accidentally brought us the wrong food, but they made it right without any issues. We appreciated that.

Usually the service is above and beyond, but this Thanksgiving it was not. Our server was friendly, but made a couple of mistakes, acted a little unsure about the menu, and didn’t check back to see how we were doing. The manager was wonderful though. She smiled and was genuine. The busser was also friendly.
The food was cold and the turkey was tasteless. Every time in the past I have given this place 5 stars, but the food and service just wasn’t up to speed. I didn’t recognize any of the servers. Maybe because of Thanksgiving or maybe they just quit.

Located just across from Boomtown right off interstate 80 in Verdi it’s easy access both on and off the freeway.
Staff was very friendly and wasted no time filling my order. A dinner salad with blackened salmon, baked potato and vegetables. Salmon was little thin in size look like it came from the tail area, but it was cooked just right blackened and just right and very moistn addition the vegetables have black seasoning and the baked potatoes was What I expected.
Of course, being in Nevada, there’s a casino attached to that grill house. Just in case you wanted to leave some more money behind.

Clean and good fast food line. I came here for 2 times and the food quality and service are consistently good. Try their salmon burger (not on the menu) and their daily soup “mushroom” ones are fresh and the staff is really polite

I gave this place 3 stars because the service is good and the staff friendly. I ordered a Cobb salad and the chicken was so grisly that I could only eat 2 bites. The bacon was bacon crumbles from a bag. I know because we use the same bacon crumbles at home. Certainly not worth the $16 plus tax and tip. I won’t eat here again.
