Reviews
When I walked in, I was impressed by how clean the inside was. There weren’t too many people, so there was no line. You order at the counter, and then the staff brings the food to your table. After looking over the menu, I decided to go for the spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread.
Now, I know what you’re thinking: Devin, you went to a place called Pizza Crust Co. and didn’t order pizza? To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of pizza. That said, I definitely plan to try their pizza next time. The prices were fair—about what you’d expect anywhere else. My meal, including a drink, came out to around $16.
The staff was extremely friendly without being overbearing. After grabbing my drink, I sat down and waited for my food. It took a little longer than I expected, but that gave me time to soak in the atmosphere, which I really liked. It felt calming yet more upscale than your average spot. I also enjoyed being able to see into the kitchen, and the multiple TVs helped keep me entertained.
When my food arrived, it looked great and the plating was clean. The meatballs were juicy and flavorful. The garlic bread was shaped like pizza slices and had a nice taste without being overpowered by garlic. The sauce was good, though I personally wish there had been a little more of it—I just prefer extra sauce with pasta. The sweet tea was about average, but enjoyable.
I also paid attention to how the staff treated other customers, and they were just as friendly and attentive. Of course, it’s hard to judge how they handle things during a rush, so I’d like to come back at a busier time to see how they do.
Overall, the food was really good, the atmosphere was enjoyable, and the price was reasonable. If you’re looking for solid Italian food in the area, I’d definitely recommend giving Pizza Crust Co. a try!
Update:
I knew it was only a matter of time before something went wrong. My first review may have been too generous. On my most recent visit, I ordered wings and two pizzas. The wings were tiny, overcooked, and nearly inedible. The Big Don pizza had almost no sauce, and both pizzas had bottoms that were chewy and not at all like they usually are.
When my wife called to let them know, the only response she got from the person on the phone was, “really.” No apology, no attempt to make it right. That was the last time we went, and honestly, we’re afraid to return. Food is far too expensive to be wasted like this—especially when it was supposed to be my weekly cheat meal.
TERRIBLE.
Atmosphere: it was clean but just the lack of decor is off putting. The music was good so that’s a plus.
Food: if you enjoy Digiorno Pizza, you will like this. It took me one bit to know that was the flavor. I like Digiorno but to go to a pizza place and pay much for for the pizza than if I had made it myself is awful. This was incredibly disappointing. I also hate that the toppings were so minimal. Believe it or not, we had 2 toppings on this.
Overall: I honestly cannot recommend something I could have made cheaper and quicker at home.
