Me and my family stopped by the Texas Roadhouse in Slidell, and like always, the food did not disappoint. My kid lives for those warm, buttery rolls. Honestly, I think he considers them the main course. By the time his actual meal shows up, he’s already in a carb coma, so we usually end up leaving with a to-go box that looks like a mini catering order.
I went with the herb crusted chicken and a loaded baked potato that could probably feed two people. The chicken was juicy, flavorful, and seasoned just right. My parents shared a half rack of ribs that were fall-off-the-bone tender, and the kids’ burger and fries disappeared almost as fast as the bread basket.
When you first walk in, the meat display greets you like a pep talk for your stomach. Those bright red steaks in the cooler basically whisper, “Go ahead, order the ribeye.” The restaurant sits right off the Service Road near the Home Depot, super easy to find, with plenty of parking. It’s also wheelchair accessible, though it can get a little cozy inside when it’s packed.
We had about a 15 minute wait on a Saturday around noon, but the staff was friendly, and our food came out faster than expected. The manager even swung by to make sure everything was great, which it was.
Overall, Texas Roadhouse in Slidell stays consistent, affordable, and family friendly. Honestly, it’s one of those places that keeps proving chain restaurants can still beat out some of the pricier local spots when it comes to value, flavor, and service. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Slidell for another round of those dangerously good rolls.

This was my first time at Texas Roadhouse, and I went for my birthday. My friends all came along to celebrate. I’d heard a lot of great things, and the experience didn’t disappoint.
I ordered the Chicken and Sirloin combo with green beans and a loaded sweet potato on the side. Everything came out hot, fast, and full of flavor. The BBQ chicken was on point, and the steak was perfectly cooked to my request. The portion sizes were generous, and the price was more than reasonable for the quality of the meal.
Without telling me, my friends mentioned to the staff that it was my birthday. They brought out a saddle and had me sit on it while the entire place joined in to wish me happy birthday. It was hilarious and memorable. Definitely not something I expected, but I leaned into it and had fun.
The service was excellent. Our waitress, Taylor, was friendly, funny, and on top of everything. She made the whole experience even better. I sat there thinking, I’ve been through a lot lately, and this was one of those small, positive moments that makes the journey worthwhile.
I’ll definitely be coming back.

Great food
The teamwork present in this establishment is obvious immediately. This group of people dont just step in to help each other, they jump.
Honestly, the quality of food didnt even matter after the amazing service we received and the teamwork we observed. But the meal we had there tonight was PERFECT. The steak was flavorful, juicy, tender. And that was even with the cheapest steak!
The restaurant was busy, so things did take time. That should be expected when you pull up and see a full parking lot. But Garrett checked on us often, kept us informed on when our food would be out, and asked if there was anything else we needed. He joked with us and laughed with us, and we genuinely had a great time with him.
After we paid our bill on the kiosk, he caught us on the way out to thank us and told us to get home safe.
My husband and I dont get out to eat much. So when we do, we really appreciate a good experience. Texas Roadhouse of Slidell and Garrett and all others we encountered exceeded any expectations we had when we walked in that door tonight.
Thank you all. ❤️
