I had been hearing a lot about KiKi’s Chicken and Waffles off Parklane in Dentsville and had read many reviews, so I decided to take my wife to try it out. Parking was very easy, which was a nice start.
Upon walking in, the space felt like it was in need of cleaning, and the overall appearance gave the impression that the restaurant might be in the middle of moving or transitioning, even though that wasn’t the case. Unfortunately, the drinks were not very good, and several menu items were unavailable during our visit.
The food overall was okay. Some dishes were easier and more enjoyable to eat than others. My wife did enjoy their chicken and especially liked the grits. Personally, I found the chicken difficult to eat, and there were still quite a few feathers present, which made the experience uncomfortable for me. Considering the price, it didn’t feel like a good value overall.
The staff was present and not rude, but they didn’t seem particularly friendly or engaged, and the atmosphere felt a bit low-energy.
I can see the appeal for those who enjoy very basic, simple flavors and straightforward comfort food. For that audience, this could be a favorite. That said, it’s not somewhere I would personally return to, and I wouldn’t recommend it broadly, though it may suit a specific crowd.
Like and follow me for more reviews . Bringing my honest experience to you so you know exactly what to expect one stop at a time!

I had chicken and waffles and the chicken was delicious! I would recommend the wings! My partner had the same, but plain wings and enjoyed both! The music was great and our server was awesome!

This is the biggest shout out I’ve ever given. If there was a bonus start you would get it! I’ve eaten at Kiki’s All over in Charleston and now in Columbia. Last week Kiki served about 1,000 people at my church. I want you to know that every meal was hot. That’s correct. We had shrimp and grits. I was number 816. It was hot. We had chicken and waffles. It was hot and I was so excited and thrilled to see them pull it out. So organized. So kindly so fresh it was really incredible. So I want to give a shout out not only for what happened last Sunday at church but also go all the other times that I visited Kiki and the food was fantastic!!

Had a very nice time at Kiki’s this is def a packed place. I had Kiki’s plate that came with 4 chicken wings and 2 sides. Not mad at it at all. The chicken was flavored nicely, fresh, and moist not over cooked. The restaurant is priced about what you would see at an average restaurant. Plates ranging from 12.99 to 18.99. The staff was friendly and wanting to make sure you had a good meal. I want to give a shot out to Cassandra I believe the bartender she helped place my order and gave me a recommendation on what sides to choose. I also overheard her make take multiple calls and help staff member and customers. She handled all with grace and professionalism even if she was doing multiple at once. If you go on a Sunday be prepared for a small wait. It gets busy. But it’s a big place with plenty of seating. Check it out.

My spouse and I had dinner here this afternoon and I cannot say that I enjoyed my experience. Although the food was hot and was served to us in less than 15 minutes, the good aspects do not outweigh the bad. My chicken wings were very salty and tasted like the grease they were fried in was burnt and old, and the Belgium waffle was bland. My husband’s chicken (leg, wing, breast and thigh) appeared to have been cooked in newer grease. My food was served about 6 minutes before my spouse plate came out, so I waited until he received his. My preference would have been to have our plates brought to us at the same time. We were given plastic ware which I thought was very tacky especially since we were dining in and our food was served on plates. Even the Waffle House uses silverware! The floor under our table was very, very sticky leaving me to wash the bottom of my shoes when I got home. The table was sticky, the syrup container had syrup running down the side. Our window was dirty and nasty, and it was very warm inside of the restaurant although it was extremely hot outside. I was very disappointed spending $50.00 in this grimy establishment! It needs a thorough cleaning! It is too overrated with the television ads and all and it is not worth the money! I have no plans to visit this restaurant again. The one positive thing I do have to say is that our waitress, Kayla was phenomenal.

Had the best snow day in with food delivered from Kiki’s. I wish I can say I took a picture but we immediately went in! I ordered the wing special with collards and sweet potato casserole. My fiancée had the wings and grits plate with a waffle on the side. Wings were piping hot…love that!! They were a great size along with the side portions. Wings were so well seasoned…best I’ve had! Will definitely be ordering from them more!

Really had high hopes. We visited the Parklane location. I ordered the Fish and Grits with cheese. Fish was seasoned well, however, was very chewy! Fish wouldn’t cut with the plastic knife given and I had to ask for a regular knife. Grits had absolutely NO flavor. Plain. Cheese did not help; neither did salt and pepper! Biscuit was so cold and dry, had me coughing for a minute. My Mom ordered the Veggie platter. She said the green beans were too spicy and no flavor on the mixed vegetables. She said the mashed potatoes and gravy and sweet potatoes were okay. The Waitress was not attentive. Had to ask for napkins, coffee refill, and a regular knife. P.S. Floor was sticky and slippery; needed mopping. Unfortunately, we won’t return, at least to this location.

Visited Parklane location to pickup order. The heavy set Black female behind the bar was not friendly, or welcoming. She did not care about me as a customer. She was more interested in talking to the people at the bar than acknowledging me. She gave me my bag while she was talking to them. Not even looking at me. I said thank you. She didn’t say the words but her attitude said whatever. Very poor service.
There are 2 Black males who are there on different days. They provide the BEST service. Friendly, welcoming, caring and are VERY good at what they do!

It was a cute quaint spot. Very friendly staff. The manager is very hands on. My server a nice young lady. Who was very attentive. We tried fried green beans. Interesting!! My son didn’t like the fries, so she switched it for gravy and rice. I am see me returning here. The food was good. I liked the service better. But if you want to feel like you’re important go here. They’ll do you right
