Camping in Manistee, Mi, decided to drive to Benzonia and dine at Upriver Pizza, great reviews, great choices and they have entertainment on given days. Took us 30 min to get there, who cares, on vacation. Located in a small shopping mall, plenty of parking. Walked in and we were greeted by the nicest employees, sit wherever we want. Nice large bar to sit at and drink a cold one, order food off their menu, or, wait for a carry out. You decide what you want and order at the bar. Drinks were delivered to your table. Casual place, very popular with the locals. Ordered Caesar salad and large Meat lovers pizza. Delicious salad with tasty dressing, yum! Pizza arrived, it was LARGE!!!, generous amount of cheese and toppings, just delicious, piping hot, waitress took good care of us. Very pleased with our dinner. They have a very busy carry out service, I can see why, delicious food, generous portions. Prices were comparable to other places. Come try this Upriver Place, Excellent pizza, friendly employees, will return next time we come to Manistee. Debbie

Great place! The New York Pizza is to die for! Gotta love The Winner, a personal favorite of mine. Full bar with great of local liquors and the good ol’ reliables. The atmosphere is welcoming and family friendly. They often feature live music events and have tons of local art on display. Overall 5/5, check it out. 🙂

A must have if you’re within a 30 minute drive. They do everything right here. From the hospitality – to great food and drink. Everything is prepared fresh from the kitchen, never frozen. The mastermind back there knows his craft. I had a coworker tell me about this place and we went for lunch. I’m already looking forward to the next time I can go back! Excellent food and service from one of the wonderful co-owners, Jody. Loved both the New York style pizza and Detroit style pizza–come here for real NY thin crust pizza! Best Greek Salad in the Midwest – fresh and full of delicious olives, artichokes and red peppers! Can’t wait to try the pasta dishes next time.

Not gonna drag a business through the mud with a scathing review, but I just picked up a pizza that’s nearly inedible. So incredibly greasy and either undercooked, or the dough is saturated in grease making it not a good texture. Friendly service. Hope I just caught them on an off night passing through the area.

I never write reviews but this may be one of the worst pizza I’ve ever ate. We ordered a Detroit style deep dish pizza, there was absolutely no structure to the pizza. The excessive cheese not only caused it to be disgustingly greasy but it had completely ooozed off the sides. To make matters worse, there was virtually no sauce. The pizza wasn’t even cut to the bottom. I was really excited for this pizza based on pictures and reviews but it was horrible. We must have just been unlucky.

Recommended by a local, I’m so glad I listened. Had the New York style pepperoni with extra sauce, garlic knots, and traditional buffalo wings. Wings are a little small but you get quite a few so, it is a healthy portion. All 3 were outstanding with the pizza being one of my all time favorites (and we have had pizza once a week for 20+ years).
Whenever we’re in the area, we’re coming back.

Burger night is awesome. The Detroit style pizza is also fluffy and delicious right up my alley. The pasta is also very good but the portion is a little small if you’re really hungry
