Social Profile:

Three Roosters highlights three different ways of how the Thai cook their chicken: grilling, frying, and poaching. Each dish is served with various kinds of rice, pickled vegetables, and sauces. As a ubiquitous and versatile ingredient, we wanted to introduce an innovative chicken dish that was both distinctive and faithful to the Thai background.

Cozy, laid-back restaurant serving fried, grilled & poached Thai chicken with rice.

Came here for a quick lunch with my sister before a show on a Sunday at around 1:30. It’s a small restaurant – it was us and one large group, and that was all the seating they had. Neither of us were super hungry, so we ordered the fried chicken and zab seasoned fries to share. The fried chicken comes with cucumber, ginger rice, sweet chili sauce, and a little bowl of chicken broth. The chicken was good – it was perfectly fried. The fries were nice and crispy. The zab seasoning has hints of lime – it almost reminded me of froot loops so I’m not sure how I felt about that. I also tried the Thai iced tea with lime juice. It was refreshing, and it was a nice change from the regular Thai milk tea. I like that there aren’t a lot of menu items – that’s usually a good sign because it means they’re focused on making a handful of dishes and making them good. I wouldn’t mind coming back to try the grilled or poached chicken.

Three Roosters is extremely underrated. It’s one of my favorite fast casual spots in all of Manhattan. I always get the grilled chicken with ginger rice. The portions are perfect, and the sauce that comes with it is packed with flavor.

It also comes with a soup that’s super delicious and comforting. If you order through Uber Eats, I believe your meal even includes a free drink, which is a nice bonus. The food is fresh, satisfying, and consistently great. Highly recommend!

Not much to say on the food. It’s solid. I got the fried chicken plate with dark meat, soup and ginger rice. Everything was perfectly fine, just not as special as advertised. Not a ton of flavor going on. The seasoning on the fries was pretty tasty though, especially with the scallions.

Staff was extremely kind from the moment I walked in, and constantly refilled my water cup, which I appreciated. However, this place really shouldn’t be operated as a table service restaurant. There’s no need for it. I’d guess most people would prefer counter service to avoid the tip, myself included. The value for the food is lost with the added service cost.

So, mixed thoughts. Give it a try for yourself though.

WOW! This place was good!

The service here was excellent and it’s a pretty casual sit down or take out place. Came here on a Thursday evening and was glad to find 2 seats.

We ordered the fried chicken and grilled chicken both which were great. The Zab fries weren’t for me, but mostly because they were a bit underdone and not as crispy as it could have been.

The thai iced tea was fantastic and highly recommend you order. The ginger rice that the chicken is sitting on was also good. The clear chicken soup was also refreshing and I highly recommend you eat the rice with the soup (yes in one bite!). Awesome combo

Overall, felt well attended to and they go the extra mile by including tootsie rolls at the end of the meal. Also decently priced. A great find!

4.5/5 Zab Fried Chicken – a must order! The chicken is fried super crispy and their spice blend with the bright citrusty zing is so good! The sweet spicy tamarind sauce pairs perfectly.

3.5/5 Poached Chicken — the chicken itself was quite dry and bland, but the sauce was great with it! Wished the ginger rice had a bit more flavor.

4/5 Thai Ice Tea — solid and authentic, we’ve had better in city however

The waiter attended me professionally, and the place makes really good fried chicken. It’s one of those New York spots where it’s kind of cramped but definitely somewhere where you wanna go for the experience. In a good spot to have for takeout, so please feel free to come back.

I loved this quiet, cute gem! It was very homey and service was quick and nice. Came here for date night. I had the grilled chicken with sticky rice. Amazing! The chicken was cooked perfectly and super juicy. The sticky rice was just right & the tamarind sauce (first time trying it) was good. My date had the Zab chicken with ginger rice. I tried some of his chicken and the crunch + flavor of the chicken was delicious.

Love this place for the chicken and rice. Similar to Singaporean chicken and rice but definitely has its own flair with the sauces and seasoning. It’s a small space with only a few tables but super cosy and the waitresses were attentive and nice.

I opted for the fried chicken and rice plate while my partner got the poached version in addition to the side of zab chicken. I love the fact that the menu is only on one page coming from someone with choice paradox.

The chicken was flavorful and it’s convenient to be able to choose between dark and white meat. The fish sauce type sauce that came with the poached chicken is my favorite. Prices are reasonable and would make a good choice for either lunch or dinner.

Looking forward to coming back again!

Chicken is generous, soft & juice steamed chicken thigh, flavourful ginger rice, good chicken broth. Will be back to try the rest of the chicken styles.
Attentive prompt service.
Place is quite clean, bathroom is clean.
Seats however were torn & tattered.

Stopped in here for a quick lunch. Small spot with a few tables. Relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Ordered the fried chicken Sando with a Thai iced tea. The sandwich was just the right amount of spice. Good try on the chicken. Seasoned well. Iced tea wasn’t too sweet which it tends to be. The service was pleasant and quick. Definitely coming back to try other things on the menu.
