ORIGINAL COMPLAINT 5/14: The app sucks. How do I get a refund????? I received the order confirmation email at 11:31 AM, and I arrived at the drive thru a few minutes before 11:45 to pick up my order. Was greeted at the drive thru and told I’d be helped in a minute. 15 minutes later, I still hadn’t been helped and had to ask through the speaker if anyone was even there. They told me to wait another minute. A few minutes later I was able to tell them I’m picking up a mobile order. I pulled around to the window and was told our food was going to be a minute because they didn’t have bread this morning and were behind. We waited another minute and I asked through the open window for an ETA. A young lady wearing a green shirt with long brown hair informed us she had just gotten back from delivering an order and we were going to have to wait. I asked why there was no communication to their customers about the delay, and she interrupted me telling me again that she had “just gotten there.” When I asked for a manager, she told me I’d have to come inside to talk to them and closed the drive thru window. At this point, it was after 12 PM. I went inside to speak with the manager, who just made excuses, offered no apologies, and claimed my food would be ready soon. I also let them know I had a sister with health issues waiting in the car who needed to eat ASAP.
I ended up waiting another 10 minutes while some staff was working slowly and the other 2 were just standing around talking about how this is “just another day for us.” Completely dismissing my concerns.
While waiting, the same delivery girl said to me, “If it makes you feel any better, I just made a delivery about 1.5 hour late because of all of this.” I told her it did not make me feel any better, and the customer service here is awful.
When I was finally handed my food, the employee tried handing me 2 separate orders, and the manager was very intentional about checking the bags and giving me a bag of sandwiches with the correct sides. I had to ask for the drinks and was handed cups to self-serve. Then I had to ask for ice because the ice machine was empty. I got the sodas, got in the car, and not only were the sodas completely flat and disgusting, we opened our sandwiches to find neither had any meat. (See photo) This is the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The manager doesn’t care, the staff doesn’t care, and am I supposed to think it was a coincidence that my food was completely messed up after all this!
A couple other quotes from the delivery person: “I hope your sandwiches are better than the attitudes here!” And “Lady, you came at me!” When I called out the bad attitude.
My order was wrong, customer service was terrible, and after an hour of dealing with this all, I had to go through another restaurant to get food. I’m astounded by the entire ordeal, and it shouldn’t be this hard to figure out how to get my money back for food I ordered through the app that I wasn’t able to eat!
The drive-thru service is very slow, and despite placing a simple, straightforward order, it’s incorrect more often than it’s right. Common issues include sandwiches missing ingredients, the wrong ingredients added, noticeably smaller portions of meat compared to other Jimmy John’s locations, and items left out of the bag (I almost always have to remind them to include the drink I paid for).
I should have learned my lesson by now and gone elsewhere, but I’ve kept giving them chances out of loyalty to the brand. Unfortunately, this location consistently falls short of the quality and reliability that make Jimmy John’s a favorite for me elsewhere.
One day they are out of bread. The next it’s meat. It’s always something. I’ve given up on this location completely.
The last time I went I got a slim 4 with cheese. It’s turkey and cheese. They forgot the cheese and gave me a “sandwich” the width of a breadstick, I’m not exaggerating (photo attached). Imagine how small that is unwrapped.
Every time I’ve went to this place it’s a crapshoot on whether they will have bread or not. Last time they didn’t, I asked, how can you be a sandwich shop with no bread? The answer I received was “we have surges of orders” ok, understandable but why was bread not made when it started to get low!? You’re a sandwich shop, can’t have a sandwich without bread. Meanwhile, 3 people are just standing around laughing and “bro-ing” it up..
Today, I walk in and the guy at the counter (Aaron according to my receipt) is very stand offish, doesn’t greet you or anything. Hell, he don’t even ask what can I get you? Just stares at you… if he’s looking at you that is. The guy in front of me had to repeat himself because Aaron’s attention was in his phone rather than his job. Literally ignores the customer and then the customer had to repeat himself once Aaron was done sending his bro a text and asked him what it was he wanted. 5 or 6 people working, 1 running the register, 1 making sandwiches and the other 3-4 doing nothing. If I was you, I’d clean house and start fresh or it’s just gonna get worse and doors will close because people won’t bother with it. It starts with management….. only reason I gave any stars is because they actually had bread today although it was looking low and nobody was making more so I bet they ran out already. Sad, because jimmys is my favorite subs but jersey mikes isn’t too far away from me.
