We had a nice time at Paesano, definitely worth a visit!
The selection of pizza was nice, I had a ham and mushroom pizza and the ingredients were decent. The crust of the pizza was really nice and fluffy.
We’re stuffed but shared a tiramisu and it was a perfect one person portion. Often a Tiramisu has the recognizable strong coffee liquor flavour but this one didn’t. It was more delicate, which we actually liked.
The service was nice and the smallest mistake (forgetting to bring us a side dip) was addressed promptly.
The atmosphere of the place wasn’t our favourite. The music was loud and the overall space wasn’t a relaxing one, but I guess it comes to personal preference!
But the pizza a Paesano Is absolutely worth a try!
Quick service with amazing pizza.
Very nice interior and great location.
We didn’t have to wait to be seated, which was amazing! However, we were greeted by a miserable looking server who sat us right beside another table, despite lots of free tables everywhere else in the restaurant.
The tables are far too close together considering how large the restaurant is.
I ordered the number 6 and although the flavours were nice, it was the soggiest pizza I’ve ever tried…certainly not the crispy, yet tender crust and base I I’d expect from a neopolitan.
I ended up asking them to box it up for me, took it home, cooked it in the oven for another 10 minutes and it was much better. But if I wanted a DIY pizza lunch, I’d have stayed at home!
The restaurant itself is really nice, lots of dark wood and interesting period features to look at.
Maybe I was just unlucky and perhaps the kitchen usually cook the pizzas for long enough, at a high enough heat, and without overloading the dough with too many wet toppings. But I won’t be back again to see if my luck changes.
