I ordered the Meaty Hippie Hash with corned beef, two eggs over easy, a piece of French toast, and, coffee. Upon taking that first bite of the hash, I was utterly gobsmacked. The flavor of the broccoli was unbelievable. The entire dish, taste, texture, and, balance, was superb. I’m almost at a loss for words as to how good it was. My eggs were cooked and seasoned beautifully. The French toast had a pleasant sweetness and was perfectly caramelized.
The coffee was equally devine to the hash. You could taste all the wonderful flavor notes that make up a really great coffee. Raisins, tabacco, red wine, cacao, and, dark chocolate. I don’t know if it’s the coffee itself or just the way they brew it, but dear God.
I told my boyfriend when I finished eating, if I ever committed a crime that landed me on death row, this would be my last meal request and I would die happy.
Jokes aside though, if you have a few extra bucks and you’re looking for the most amazing breakfast of your life I cannot recommend Fleetwood Diner, or their Meaty Hippie Hash, enough. You won’t be disappointed.
When my food finally came, I was shocked. I had ordered a sirloin steak, but what I got instead was a cold, unseasoned burger patty. And get this — the server even admitted it was burger meat and said that’s just what they use. That’s completely unacceptable. If it’s not steak, don’t call it steak. I felt misled and ripped off.
To make matters worse, the server brought me hash browns instead of fries, and when I asked for the correct item, she came back and literally dropped a basket of fries on the table, saying, “Good thing we had some sitting on the counter!” The fries were cold, soggy, and clearly old.
The entire time there I saw three homeless people walking in and out of the bathroom and even a people asking us for rides! This entire experience felt unsafe.
I paid over $20 for a meal that was misrepresented, poorly made, and served with a complete lack of care. This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had, and I’ll be telling others to avoid this place entirely.
