Just came across this place while traveling.
Such a wonderful treat we happened upon it.
Carol, the proprietor, was so gracious in serving us, taking photos, and sharing some of the history of her family that started the restaurant.
The food was delicious, generous portions, hot cider with caramel and whipped cream. Had the chicken fried steak, all the toast, jam, eggs and potatoes with it were great.

I stopped in for breakfast
after hiking Sweet Creek Falls
but they are not offering a
menu due to staffing issues.
The restaurant is offering
a salad bar with burgers, build your own pizza, chili, clam chowder, and stuffed French Toast.
I reviewed my options with the owner, and she said they
could make a chicken burger
for me.
It took about twenty minutes
for the burger to arrive with
wedge potatoes.
I went to the salad bar to add the fixings to my burger.
The chicken had good taste,
and the potatoes were thick
and a little overcooked.
I reviewed the baked goods
and selected some ginger cookies, a brownie, and a
small gingerbread man.
Located near Mapleton on OR -126 East, about fifteen miles from Florence.
I place to stop for baked goods
made with gingerbread,
friendly service, and a limited
food menu.

Not what we expected and different than it used to be… but give it a try! The gingerbread al a mode was amazing. The cheeseburgers, chips, and clamchowder were all really good. The ladies working were very nice and made us fresh coffee when we ordered coffee with our gingerbread. The kids had fun decorating and placing a rock outside. And be sure to pet the pig!!!

If you’re looking for charming & whimsy, you’ll find it here. This restaurant has been serving up family favorites since 1966. The owner provided us a painted rock, to design & add to, so that a little piece of us could stay there. It was a nice touch. The Waldport burger was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Notes of pnw blackberry BBQ sauce make this choice stand out. They have a great selection of baked goods, as well as some locally made gifts for purchase. Add this to your places to stop on your way out to the coast, you won’t forget it.

Had the French Toast with Blackberries and could not finish it. Huge portions and excellent taste.
Wife’s omelet was also really good.
Desserts looked great, but I was too full to try one.

This is an adorable restaurant that happens to serve very good food! I ordered the club with onion rings and got three meals out it.
I did order a cinnamon roll to go and found it very clove forward and less cinnamon-y, so be warned if that is not a flavor you enjoy.
Definitely check them out if you are in the area and need a bite.

We went by on Sunday after leaving the coast and unable to find anything without a wait in Florence. We have always wanted to stop here and I am so glad that we did!!!! These people, the staff are just phenomenal. We truly enjoyed the experience of coming here and eating on their little outside patio with our puppy. They brought ice water out for our dog and gave her a special treat of bacon!! All of the food that we ordered was really really good. Cheesy garlic fries were amazing. I loved my chef salad and my husband loved his club sandwich. My son said that his kids cheeseburger was the best he’s ever had. My daughter liked her grilled cheese sandwich, and the kids gobbled down a milkshake that I didn’t even get a chance to take a picture of before it was gone!!! We will definitely be back, thanks also to Mary, what a sweet person!!!

I’ve been here 4 times in the past 3 years. It is a charming place with a wonderful hostess. HOWEVER, the food and baked goods have always been fantastic… until now. They stopped serving from a menu and only have a really bad salad bar, a burger, chili, clam chowder, and what they call pizza. Their baked goods are terrible now. While we were waiting for our food, family after family all asked what happened as they complained going out the door. The burger was not undercooked, it was raw. The bun was buttered and fried like a cracker. Nothing on the burger. I was told condiments were at the salad bar around the corner of the restaurant and to go get them myself. The fries that came out separately, 20 minutes later, were days-old baked potatoes heated on a skillet and not looking too good. The “pizza” was week-old bread that one is to make oneself from a pizza bar…to put cold tomato paste (not sauce) from a can onto it, and top with cheese and toppings. You then bring that up to the teller who heats it up for you. The clam chowder is like mashed potatoes and tastes bland and gross and has likely been sitting out long enough for food poisoning. The cinnamon roll is giant, a week old, akin to a crouton, and the “frosting” they put on it is literally cream cheese. We’re not talking cream cheese frosting, it was literally cream cheese. Barf. I love cream cheese, but not on a cinnamon roll. And I have never met a bad cinnamon roll in my life until now. It’s so sad to see this place die. The owner said the previous cook she had for years is about to die and no one else is available to cook so she stopped doing the menu months ago. This place won’t be open much longer if things don’t change. It’s making money now because people keep coming in thinking it’s still what it used to be. OH SNAP! Nope.

Huge portions and incredibly tasty. Highly recommend getting both the lemon curd AND the blackberry topping on the Gingerbread French Toast, and the homemade whipped cream is a must. Far better drip coffee than most breakfast places as well. And the staff are so friendly and welcoming!
