Raunka at Lady Margaret Road Southall is a 15-year-old restaurant renowned for its excellence, consistently ranked as the No. 1 dining establishment in Middlesex. It offers an authentic experience of rich Punjabi culture and flavors. Upon entering RPD (Raunka Punjab Diyan), guests are transported on a culinary journey straight to Punjab. From the moment you step inside, you are welcomed by the vibrant ambiance characterized by colorful traditional decor, lively music, and the tantalizing aromas of freshly cooked tandoori dishes. The warm hospitality of the staff enhances the inviting atmosphere. Prepare to enjoy a variety of authentic Punjabi dishes, from traditional delicacies to flavorful specialties, each capturing the true essence of Punjab in every bite.
My wife discovered this charming restaurant, and we decided to try several of their signature dishes. We started with their special sweet and mango-flavored lassi, both perfectly chilled and expertly blended with real fruit. We also ordered jal zerra, papad with spicy chutney, and crunchy papdi chaat, which were each served with generous portions and balanced flavors. For the main course, we enjoyed hara bhara kabab, Malai Kofta with its creamy gravy, and masala fish that was cooked to perfection. We also savored spicy, tangy kukkad (chicken) cooked with chilis and garlic naan, along with fluffy zeera (cumin) rice. Every dish was served with satisfying portion sizes, and the overall taste was outstanding, reflecting authentic Punjabi culinary traditions.

Mani served us and was lovely throughout the evening. Always helping us with a smile and a very friendly manner. Food was excellent. We had the Pilau rice, Chilli garlic naan and Aloo Onion Kulcha for our rice and breads. We ordered the Chilli garlic mogo chips and Hara Bara Kebab for starters and both dishes were amazing. For our mains we had Chilli Paneer, Punjab Curry Pakora and Bombay Aloo. All dishes were full of flavour and cooked to perfection. This is our second time here and we love it even more than the first time. What a lovely meal to have for Valentine’s!

We were a group of 5—family and friends—celebrating my husband’s birthday.
They even decorated the cake with a beautiful flower arch, which was such a cute and thoughtful touch!

Amazing service! We came all the way from Kensington just to try some authentic Punjabi food that wasn’t halal, and we were so pleased. The staff was so lovely and made us feel just at home, and the gulaab jamuns were the best part of our meal!

We had dinner at Raunka Punjab on Friday night. There were four adults and one child, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish.
We ordered palak paneer, but what was served to us did not look like palak paneer at all. There was no proper palak color or texture. The taste was completely off. I am posting a picture with this review, so everyone can see for themselves and decide if this dish can really be called palak paneer.
The taste of the food was horrible. Nothing felt fresh or authentic. The curry was confusing, overly sweet, and had no proper Punjabi flavor at all.
We also ordered sweet lassi, but it was extremely sweet, almost like sugar syrup. It did not taste good and was impossible to enjoy with food.
On top of that, a girl working there kept forcing us to order more items even though we clearly said we were done. It felt very uncomfortable. She mentioned that the owner teaches staff to push customers to order more, which is very unprofessional and annoying. Customers should not be pressured while eating.
Overall, the food quality, taste, and service were very poor. We spent our money expecting a good Punjabi dinner and left completely dissatisfied. This place does not justify the prices or the name it carries.
I would not recommend Raunka Punjab to anyone looking for authentic Punjabi food or a comfortable dining experience. There are many better options out there.

I had a fantastic experience at Raunka Punjab Diyan. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with such a warm welcome from Mahek, Bali and Gurjeet. They were always smiling, attentive, and genuinely friendly. Nothing was too much to ask, they went above and beyond to make sure we had a great evening, which really made the whole experience feel special.

The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavour and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried was vibrant, authentic, and beautifully presented. You can really taste the quality and the passion behind the cooking.

The decor and atmosphere are also worth mentioning. The restaurant has a lively, colourful Punjabi vibe that makes it feel warm and inviting. The music, lighting, and overall ambience create a great energy that makes the whole dining experience even more enjoyable.

Overall, it was a wonderful evening with great service, fantastic food, and a brilliant atmosphere. Huge thanks again to Mahek, Bali and Gurjeet for making our visit so memorable. I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a lively Punjabi dining experience!

The food is very delicious and homely. We came a little late just after 10.30 but they still accommodated us seeing that I am pregnant which is really kind of them. The waitress Mani was really kind and gave us amazing food recommendations. Will surely be coming back again!

I have been going to this lovely reataurant for a few years now and it never dissapoints. I actually travel to see family in London from Devon and make sure that every time I see my parents, I stop for a meal here.

The owner and chef, the wonderful lady Gurjit is by far one of the most amazing people I have had the pleasure of meeting. She always finds time to come to greet me and my family and makes sure that food is cooked to perfection . I have food intolerance (gluten and dairy) so she always checks and adjusts meals to suit my stomach. Thank you

Today we were looked after by a lovely lady called Balli, who is a beautiful young lady and her service was very professional and friendly. She made sure we were taken care of and well looked after.

Thank you both very much for a lovely evening.

The food is delicious, generous portions, made to order, served hot and with great care.

I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys true Punjabi food that exuberates vibrant flavours and is rich in spices and beautifully presented on your plate.

I shall be back again soon.
