The grilled mixed veggies side was really delicious but the brisket was so good I should have skipped the sides and had a pound of brisket instead of 12 oz. Next time…
Went mid-afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner. Not crowded and great service.
Ramp to entrance for wheelchair access, roomy bathroom.
Thanks for the great meal!
The two full racks of ribs I ordered on 11/20 were extremely fatty, untrimmed, greasy, and barely had the spicy BBQ sauce I paid for. What little sauce was there tasted like plain tomato sauce. Me and my wife couldn’t even finish them — the fat pooled at the bottom of the container. We had to add our own BBQ sauce just to attempt to eat them.
The brisket was basic, the pulled pork had no flavor, and the sides were terrible. Everything tasted rushed and low-quality. I’ve spent $50+ per order, and none of it was worth it, especially in today’s economy. No wonder people just cook at home. Colleagues and friends told me they’ve had similar experiences, so it’s clearly not just me. Kudos if you think this is good BBQ, but honestly even Famous Dave’s is better.
***Never ordering from here again*****
What truly sets Sweet Lucy’s apart is not just the incredible food, but the warmth and dedication of the people behind it. You can taste the love and passion in every bite. It’s rare to find a place that feels like home and serves food that could win awards. We can’t praise everyone at Sweet Lucy’s highly enough. Keep doing what you’re doing, because it’s truly something special!
But other wise all was well.
This time, though, I wasn’t in the mood for BBQ… I just wanted some good ole fashioned comfort food. Sweet Lucy’s came to mind. So, I ordered the baked turkey with mashed potatoes and their collard greens. I asked for extra, extra gravy on my turkey and extra gravy on my mashed potatoes. I was extremely disappointed when I got home and saw that I didn’t get any extra gravy; not even a little bit. All of that turkey with a drizzle of gravy.
The turkey was very tender, but without enough gravy it started to be pretty dry to eat. I ended up having to use some of my husbands BBQ sauce to finish it up, (he got a rack of ribs). It was still tasty, but I really just wanted that gravy.
The mashed were phenomenal, as usual. I wish the greens had some smoked turkey pieces in it, or maybe some cooked onions, but they were still pretty good.
Ultimately, I feel like they’re so busy, that they are starting to miss some things (like my request for some extra gravy), because they’re trying to move the line. This place stays busy, and the lines long, but it’s for a good reason! Their food is fantastic and their portion sizes are nice.
I will definitely be back, but next time, I will check my food before I leave to make sure everything I wanted is there.
